In 1984 Cirque Du Soleil started out with 20 street performers in Quebec. Now, of course, Cirque Du Soleil is known around the world, and it has a massive scope with over 5000 employess and 1300 performing artists. Don’t let the size fool you though, Cirque Du Soleil hasn’t lost it’s edge. If anything, they continue to create mind-boggling, body-shivering performances that delight thousands daily around the world. One such performance is Totem.
Totem premiered in 2010 and since then 2 million people have seen it. Totem traces the history of the human species from the beginning of time to the present and does it in true Cirque Du Soleil fashion, with spectacular colour, sound and movement. Like La Nouba, which is permanently featured at Downtown Disney, Totem is a perfect show for family entertainment and sure to keep everyone’s eyes wide with wonder from seven to seventy.
Totem is currently playing in Philadelphia, and moves to Ottawa, Canada on July 11th, where it remains until August 4th, 2013. The show continues on to Columbus, Ohio before it moves to California for performances in Los Angeles, Irvine and Santa Monica. Tickets are available on the Totem website.
