Last Thursday during the Paris Fashion Week at the Palais Brongniart, Christian Louboutin released his version of the infamous glass slipper, inspired by Disney’s most famous movies, Cinderella. The design was created in lieu of the Diamond Edition of Cinderella which is set to come out on Blu-Ray in the Fall.
Famous for his signature red soles and stunning heels, the stiletto designer redesigned the classic shoe with a modern twist. In replacement of glass, the slippers are made of delicate lace to give them a look of transparency, and adorned with butterfly designs at the vamp and atop the Swarovski crystal covered heel. Of course, Louboutin’s trademark red soles are in place ;).
Disney has announced that only 20 pairs of the glamorous slipper will be produced, to be given away to lucky recipients around the world. Additional details on the giveaway will be revealed later this summer.
In addition to the shoe release, Disney and Louboutin will be including a brand new 10-minute short film titled “The Magic of the Glass Slipper: A Cinderella Story” starring Louboutin himself, with the Diamond Edition film.
”The movie is about how that shoe got invented by the person who is known as the Red Sole Man. Which is me,” said Louboutin with a laugh.
