If you are heading West this summer or live on the border of Alberta, check out the Edmonton International Street Performers Festival‘s 28th year, July 6-15 at Sir Winston Churchill Square in downtown Edmonton, Alberta. Handpicked from across the globe, these performers bring culture, creativity and entertainment to the public for over a week’s worth of family-fun.
The first of its kind in North America, The Edmonton International Street Performers Festival has over 1,500 outdoor performances from street artists including: magicians, stilt walkers, clowns, face painters, comedians, dancers, tight rope walkers, among many others. The festival even has a Kid’s World section, filled with activities perfect for the young and young at heart.
Two of the nation’s homegrown street performers exhibiting their talents at the global gathering include:
- Michael Trautman, world renowned ping pong spitting target shooter from Portland, Maine
- Rob Torres, seasoned physical comedian from New York City
The festival averages around 230,000 visitors a year over ten days. It provides entertainment and activities for children and their families. Humorous clown performances, magical acts, dancing and other fun surprises are in store.
