Before I became a mother I was highly organized. I planned our meals for the entire month (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and because of this, was able to do all of our shopping in one trip. After each chid I lost a little more of my organizational skills and have reached the point where dinner plans are a spur of a moment decision – a tactic that didn’t work so well.
When Glow Baby asked whether I would be interested in checking out their Organized Family Menu Planner, I thought they had some kind of mind-reading capability because the timing truly couldn’t have been more perfect!
This book is spiral-bound which allows it to lay flat on any surface (great while you are in the kitchen). It’s elegant and simple layout makes it very easy to read and use.
There are 52 weeks of menu planning worksheets each with a detachable shopping list, so you can make your meal plans and your grocery list at the same time! There is even a Special Occasions section which allows you to plan events and make plans accordingly (event information, menu planing chart, guest list, RSVP list, etc).
Another great feature about this planner is large envelope located in the back of the book. Throughout the month, I collect recipes from magazines that I cut out and usually lose. With this envelope, I’ve been able to collect the recipes and actually use them during the month!
The Organized Family Menu Planner has proved to be indispensible in our house and I’ve been able to save money and time because of the meal planning. Meal times are never part of a guessing game, I’m able to try out new recipes and grocery shopping begins and ends with an actual list!
