A Pea in the Pod is one of my favourite maternity designers. Their apparel is high quality, cut well and you are usually sure to find something when shopping at one of their stores. I know this because I am currently pregnant with my third child and have trouble finding decent clothing that doesn’t make me look like a walking tent.
I’m feeling a little upset after checking out these beautiful designs from the designer’s new fall collection. Why? Because I will have already given birth by the time they hit stores! Ah, never mind. You lucky ladies who are currently expecting have some fabulous fashions to look forward to ;).
For Fall 2011, A Pea in the Pod has captured this season’s major runway trends: Modern Minimalist and Seventies Icon, taking clients on a time traveling journey that lands them back into the twenty-first century.
The Seventies Icon aspect has recreated looks from the past that are anything but outdated. Jeans are updated in super stretchy fabrications with the new flare leg shape, while paisleys and vintage floral prints in the warm hues of camel and toffee mixed with pumpkin, russet, and olive are important in peasant tops reminiscent of Charlie’s Angels and Love Story. Maxi dresses and long skirts provide a hippy fashion element.

For the Modern Minimalist aspect you have new tailoring and soft yet sophisticated Helmut Lang-inspired styling. Black, pearl grey, pewter, cool teals and sage greens are among the colour palette and layers reign supreme over form-fitting, body-conscious midi-length dresses and pencil skirts.
If you are due this fall or winter, I am officially jealous! ;)
