Creating eye-catching designs and sensual forms is the goal of Mimondo and they certainly succeeded with these Wave bunk beds. When I first laid eyes on these amazing works of art, I wasn’t quite sure as to whether I was looking at a piece of furniture or some kind of modern art form. Turns out, they are both.
Mimondo’s philosophy is to create and market durable furniture that surprises by using and experimenting with simpler and more aesthetic shapes than what is usually seen in furniture for children and teenagers. This Denmark based company works with a wide range of other companies with extensive experience and uses materials and construction principles that make them stand out from the crowd. Mimondo’s latest Wave range of tailor-made beds was developed and co-designed with Gudiksen Design.
Available in either white/ash or black/ash, both versions of the Wave are made using hardwood and feature a double-ventilated base and fixed slats for the sake of comfort and durability. Using a tough hardening oil surface treatment, the beds are proven to withstand the DIN 53 160 (saliva and sweat) test. Durable environmentally-friendly hardening enamel paint is used for all painted components.
In regards to safety, both Mimondo Wave beds have been fully tested and comply with the EN 71-3 requirements (EU Toy Safety Directive).
If you love modern art or are looking for a bed that is completely unique, these would make an amazing statement piece in any child or teenager’s bedroom. You can visit Mimondo’s website for pricing, measurements or more information.
