Actress Uma Thurman was one of the attendees of the inaugural dinner for Turnaround for Children last week (April 13).
“Turnaround is a pioneering not-for-profit organization that partners with the most challenged, lowest-performing public schools to transform them into centres of teaching, learning and achievement.”
Lauren duPont, Heather Mnuchin, Shoshanna Gruss, Cristina Greeven Cuomo and Mayor Michael Bloomberg were also among the attendees who filed into the Plaza Hotel in order to raise money to benefit troubled public schools.
During dessert, a live auction kicked off, where tickets to the Chanel Couture show (donated by dinner vice chair and Chanel Vice President of Public Relations Rebekah McCabe) fetched $20,000.
