Princess Cruises Unveils Largest Europe Program Ever For 2011 & Gains Recognition For “Best Itineraries”

Princess Cruises recently unveiled their most extensive Europe season yet for 2011 with more ships, departure choices and itinerary options for European destinations. Several vessels will be offering 42 itinerary choices with calls at more than 135 ports and seven new routes!

Over half of these ports will offer access to attractions designated UNESCO World Heritage Sites ranging from Italy’s Amalfi Coast and the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, the birthplace of Apollo on the island of Delos and the 16th-century Suleymaniye Mosque. In addition, Princess will be giving passengers extra time (thanks to enhanced overnight offerings) in fascinating ports throughout Europe, such as Venice, Istanbul, St. Petersburg, Alexandria, Dublin and Edinburgh on various routes.

“As a leader in Europe cruises we constantly aim to design an intriguing range of vacation choices, but next year our lineup may really challenge passengers to choose among some outstanding options,” said Jan Swartz, Princess Cruises executive vice president. “Whether they want the amenities of a large ship or the intimate experience of a smaller vessel; a short, seven-day getaway or an extended adventure over several weeks, there’s a Princess cruise to match.”

Five new European ports will include charming city of Aahus, home to the tallest cathedral in Denmark; Motril (for Grenada), on Spain’s beautiful coast of Andalusia and within reach of the stunning Alhambra palace; the Mediterranean port of Sete, France; the resort city of Aghios Nikolaos on Crete (Greece), and cosmopolitan Antwerp, Belgium.

Cruises traveling through the Mediterranean and Greek Isles, Holy Land and Black Sea, Scandinavia and Russia as well as Northern Europe are currently available with a wide variety of different itineraries.

The 2011 Princess Europe season is now open for bookings. Launch fares for seven day sailings will start at $1,199 per person, based on double occupancy.

In addition to this, just last week readers of one of the leading travel industry publications, Recommend Magazine, voted Princess Cruises the “Best Cruise Line — Itineraries” for the sixth year in a row as part of the publication’s annual Readers’ Choice Awards due to their over 115 itineraries to 350 ports and destinations on all seven continents!

A rich array of family programs and activities available on this cruise line include the Princess Youth and Teen Programs which provide state-of-the-art youth center facilities, activities and fun events for ages 3 to 17, supervised by a dedicated staff of youth activity processionals. The program is divided into three distinct, age-specific programs — Princess Pelicans (ages 3-7), Shockwaves (ages 8-12) and Remix (ages 13-17). Each group features an age-appropriate schedule, often with separate facilities. The program includes a number of special features, including Science on the Seas activities from the award-winning California Science Center, Yoga for Kids, and a Jr. [email protected] program.
