The innocence and purity of a child is one of the most beautiful things. It’s something that many adults can learn from. I saw something today that warmed my heart and put a smile on my face.  An Italian media company called Ciaopeople Media Group put together a video showcasing the results of a certain social experiment. They interviewed four boys between 7 and 11 years of age and introduced them to a girl called Martina.  The boys were asked to caress Martina, make a funny face and then to slap her – hard. Their reactions and responses are just…well you’ll have to […] Continue reading →

I love colouring with my daughter. There’s nothing quite like sitting down with a huge box of crayons — every colour in the world — and a fresh sheet of paper, completely empty, yet filled with possibilities. I find colouring with her an incredibly calming activity which includes the added luxury of being able to watch her artistic side come through and amaze me with her creations. Recently, we’ve seen a few parent-child art collaborations in the news, and I wanted to share two today. First, artist Fred Giovannitti started a business trip tradition with his daughters — ages 6 and […] Continue reading →

dinovember 4

Earlier this month, articles began surfacing about a couple of rather creative parents who decided to spark the imaginations of their children by staging complex tableaus of dinosaurs around their home each night in November, aka Dinovember! Every night during the month of November (such a fun lead up to the magic of the holiday season!) Refe Tuma and his wife set up some cute toy dinos in some precarious, sometimes mischievous, circumstances all around the house — the kitchen, bathroom, and beyond have all been targeted by these cheeky reptiles, with hysterical consequences! As dad Refe puts it: In a time […] Continue reading →

This post is part of the YummyMummyClub.ca and Huggies’ #MummyMentor sponsored program. I received compensation as a thank you for my participation. This post reflects my personal opinion about the information provided by the sponsors. I obsessed over my first pregnancy, reading through every online forum, parenting and pregnancy book both in the library and in-store. I remember a time when I didn’t feel my daughter move for a full 2 hours and so I called my midwife immediately, worried that something was wrong. Of course, everything was just fine and chances are my daughter was sleeping or just chilling […] Continue reading →

As soon as January rolls around, I begin planning our summer. As a business owner who works from home, it can get a little tricky as our peak season is in the summer, but that never stops me. A couple of years ago during a conference at Walt Disney World Resort, something was said to me that resonated so deeply that I since changed my entire outlook on […] Continue reading →

Can you believe there was once a time when gadgets were truly a luxury rather than a necessity? I know, it’s almost impossible to imagine — especially now that we live in a world where technology is on the forefront. My husband jokes that my smartphone is invisibly attached to my body, as it is always by my side. But the truth is, technology helps me on a daily basis both in my personal and professional life. And when it comes to parenting, there are several gadgets in particular that keep me organized, make sure I’m on time, and grant […] Continue reading →
