It was bound to happen. When Rebecca Minkoff, the infamous bag designer became a mother for the first time, I knew we were in for a treat. She dipped her toes in the maternity market when she partnered with Bravado on their limited edition nursing tank collection and just recently released a maternity collection for A Pea in the Pod. It’s funny because I was just interviewed by Metro New York on the upcoming maternity trends and Minkoff touched on many of them with this collection. Graphic tees with cute sayings are in this season. It’s not something we’ve seen […] Continue reading →

There are so many brilliant designers from Europe and this particular brand is no exception. Koka Mama (Koka means Mother in Maori), is the newest maternity fashion label from London and a labour of love for Tamara Hema, a designer with over 10 years of experience in the fashion industry. Designed to be worn during pregnancy and into motherhood, this luxurious line features cleverly cut designs, luxurious fabrics and special detailing. The key pieces from Koka Mama’s Spring 2012 line include the perfect cotton maternity shirt dress – made for both expansion and motherhood, skinny jeans (that won’t fall down), […] Continue reading →

During my pregnancy with my 3rd child, Isabella Oliver’s Wrap Dress was one of my ultimate favourites. Although I enjoy reporting on the trends, I’m not one to follow or copy a celebrity trend just because it has been worn by an A-lister. Of course, that could also be due to the fact that I’m familiar with the brand or have used the brand before even spotting it on a celeb. Isabella Oliver’s Wrap Dress is the one exception to that rule. Selma Blair was one of the best-dressed pregnant celebrity moms of 2011 in my opinion, and she was […] Continue reading →

Well, I’ve found it. The one maternity dress that I never want to take off. A dress that I’ve worn and washed over and over again only to have it come out looking brand new every time. Everly Grey is a maternity designer made famous by the countless celebs who have been spotted wearing their designs. Mad Men star January Jones has been photographed wearing their Delia top and Jill Dress in Batik, while Tori Spelling is also a fan of the brand and has been spotted in one of the Luna tunics. Ali Landry was recently spotted in Everly Grey’s gorgeous […] Continue reading →

Diamond Lattice Dress - Anthropologie - $158.00 The warm weather is teasing us up in Canada and throughout parts of the United States, but in reality, lazy days of summer are just around the corner and soon will be here to stay. I have only been heavily pregnant once in the summer months and only up until May, but those few days of heat exposed me to a world where I was relieved I would be able to avoid. Being pregnant can already be extremely uncomfortable towards the end, let alone adding heat and the swollen ankles and feet that […] Continue reading →

A Pea in the Pod is one of my favourite maternity designers. Their apparel is high quality, cut well and you are usually sure to find something when shopping at one of their stores. I know this because I am currently pregnant with my third child and have trouble finding decent clothing that doesn’t make me look like a walking tent. I’m feeling a little upset after checking out these beautiful designs from the designer’s new fall collection. Why? Because I will have already given birth by the time they hit stores! Ah, never mind. You lucky ladies who are […] Continue reading →

Oh yes she did! The fabulous, incredible and infamous Diane von Furstenberg has come out with her very own line of maternity clothing! Although the collection is quite small (four pieces) it is an answer to the prayers of so many women who have requested that DVF design a line for expecting mothers. Just last month Diane von Furstenberg, announced the launch of DVF Maternity and debuted the collection on their website. Forget the plain solids, DVF’s collection is anything but boring with the geometric patterns splashed across the 100% silk jersey tops and dresses. Hot Popcorn is the red […] Continue reading →
