Although they completed this project in 2010, I wanted to share the designing genius of smith+tracey Architects with you all. The company recently completed the architecture and interior design of St .Mary’s Primary School, Greensborough, Victoria using inspiration from the external environment of Greensborough; a leafy north eastern suburb of Melbourne. They wanted the interior of the building to reflect on the buildings surroundings and to create “an engaging learning environment for the students of St Mary’s”. One of the highlights at the ABC Kids Expo this year, was being introduced to the brand-new company PetitNest. Founded by actress Tiffani Thiessen, and award-winning designer Lonni Paul, this collection of nursery furniture, decor and accessories is filled with simple yet striking designs that are unique and made to grow with your child. Both Tiffani and Lonni were extremely pleasant and took time out of their busy day to introduce me to their designs and answer some questions I had about their collection. If you are looking for something truly unique for your child’s bedroom, I think I found just the thing. Jellio has introduced a chandelier made of approximately 5,000 hand-strung acrylic gummi bears! Yes, that’s right, I said gummi bears! The process takes about two months to complete and only ten will ever be made, and each one is unique and a little different from the others.
