As you know, we are a big fan of Carnival’s new ships. The Carnival Sunshine isn’t technically “new” although you would never guess it when onboard. Previously the Carnival Destiny,  the Carnival Sunshine holds 3,002 passengers and features everything from an onboard waterpark, a SkyCourse, an incredible amount of restaurants and activities onboard.  Last November we were invited onboard this new ship and took part in the Christening festivities. During the dockside ceremony in New Orleans, Lin Arison, the widow of Ted Arison (founder of Carnival Cruise Lines) christened the ship. Nassau, Bahamas is one of the most visited cruise ports in the world and for good reason. Sandy beaches, turquoise waters, dolphin encounters and the famed Atlantis Resort can be found here. During our cruise on the Carnival Breeze, my family and I opted for a day-pass to Atlantis. Carnival Cruise Lines has released additional details on the $155 million makeover that will transform Carnival Destiny into Carnival Sunshine during a 49-day dry dock in Italy.
