Little Blue Olive

As my daughter’s second birthday is coming up, I’ve been planning her big day. While we usually do a simple, DIY party with family and just a few friends, I can’t help but find the cutest birthday accessories while I’m at it. Little Blue Olive is an Etsy shop, based in Portland, Oregon that sells handmade birthday hats and crowns, for wee ones to adults.   Aren’t they sweet?! I love the unique colors and especially all of the fun sparkles (or “sprinkles,” as my daughter would call them)! With prices ranging from $15-$25, these are totally affordable and would […] Continue reading →

My daughter’s first Christmas (back in 2009!) was magical and memorable. At nearly a year old, she took in the sights and sounds and was absolutely mesmerized by our Christmas tree, holidays lights, and all of the presents stacked up on the morning of December 25th. It’s such a special time for parents — to watch their children enjoy the wonders of their very first holiday season! Today I wanted to share some cute ideas that would make for great gifts or keepsakes for baby’s 1st Christmas! Baby’s First Christmas Onesie with Headband and Leg Warmers via C & E […] Continue reading →

On Pinterest I have an entire board dedicated to inspirational, funny and adorable sayings. Quotes can inspire you to do better and bigger things and some can move you to tears or laughter. My babies have brought me such an incredible amount of joy and happiness, but sometimes I lack the words to describe just how much they mean to me. Luckily authors, actors and some other parents have found the words and some of them are just too good not to share. I put together a list of 10 of my favourite baby quotes of all time and created […] Continue reading →

It’s funny how different kids can be. My 8-month-old son is starting to show a real interest in games, toys and just simple cause and effect, while at this age my daughters were into stacking, sorting and creating ‘collections’ of things, books and toys, with absolutely no interest in traditional play whatsoever. We have a really cute xylophone that we bought for my middle daughter a couple of years back and although she never quite took to the whole concept of music-making, my son is overly keen on banging the keys and squeals when he makes music. When a customer […] Continue reading →

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and five retailers are announcing a voluntary recall to provide refunds to consumers who own crib tents and play yard tents made by Tots in Mind, Inc. CPSC is warning parents and caregivers who own these products that infants and toddlers are at risk of serious injury or death due to strangulation and entrapment hazards presented by these products. Tots in Mind recalled the play yard tents in July 2010 and offered a repair kit that is no longer available. The company is no longer in business and has stopped all sales. CPSC […] Continue reading →
