Junk Food comes out with the best designs with original and quirky touches each and every year and I’m always sure to purchase a few pieces from their collaboration with Gap. Keith Haring & Jean-Michel Basquiat are two artists Gap and Junk Food have always had an affinity for. They were both born out of the streets and with naive styles they were able to tell very complex narratives with the perspective that art is to be shared and enjoyed by everyone. Keith Haring has such a signature line style from which they have chosen iconic elements while bringing more […] Continue reading →
Until 3 years ago, I had never ran a mile. I loathed running with all my being and never dreamt that one day I would run a race what to speak of a 1/2 marathon. After giving birth to my son I came across a training program to help you run a 5K. The first couple of weeks were torturous but I pushed through and reached my 5K goal. Then I wanted more, so I trained for a 10K and ran my very first race. It was challenging but I did it and felt oh so proud of myself. And […] Continue reading →
I learned something in 2014. Something that completely changed my life and the way I look at things. I learned that wishes do come true if you work hard enough at them and do everything you can to make them happen. Want to be a yoga instructor? Go for it. Want to create your own business? Do it. Want to run the Disney Princess 1/2 Marathon? Sign up for that race and just do it! Today, my Prince Charmings and sweet Princesses dropped me off at the airport to take on something that’s always been on my bucket list. Presented […] Continue reading →
I mentioned in my previous posts about Quantum of the Seas that I had never been on a cruise before. As a newbie, one of the things I was nervous about was the dining – I’d always heard that choices were limited and you had to sit with people you don’t know. Royal Caribbean revamped everything for their new smartship, including all the food and entertainment. They have introduced what they call “Dynamic Dining” which allows guests to choose from 18 different restaurants with no set dining times. The restaurants range from the incredibly elegant Grande (I was looking around […] Continue reading →
My kids have had a fairly healthy winter (touch wood), however the last couple of times that they did get sick was due to their habit of taking their socks off and running around barefoot on our cold ceramic floors. I don’t know why they insist on taking their socks off, but it’s become a bad habit that’s been hard to remedy. A couple of weeks ago I was introduced to a new company called ChattyFeet. These super fun socks cheer you up with funny personalities on your toes! We received several pairs of these fun socks for myself and […] Continue reading →
I’m a little obsessed with points. In fact, I shop according to whether or not the store provides points for purchases. If there is no reward program, I’ll search for a similar store that provides one. Shoppers Drug Mart has been my store of choice for years. I’ve been shopping here for all of my personal and body care needs for years and years. Their Optimum points can be used to save actual cash on purchases (win-win). Just recently, Shoppers Drug Mart has built a media/ information hub for their Life brand called Get the Most Out of Life to […] Continue reading →
You may think that winter is an off time of year to talk about sunglasses, but if you have ever lived in a snowy climate, you know how intense that glare can be off of the fresh, white, landscape. Well, the awesome news is that Babiators, the beloved toddler and child sunglasses brand, recently launched a new line for children ages 7-14 called Aces. Aces Shades fly high with rad style that kids will love and a durability that pleases every parent. Babiators’ Lost and Found Guarantee allows you to register you child’s glasses (this goes for original Babiators, too), […] Continue reading →
