We celebrated Thanksgiving last week here in Canada and autumn is in full swing. Naturally this means that pumpkins are in season. Last week, my husband and I made a trip to one of our favourite Thai restaurants and I ordered the coconut curry pumpkin soup. It was better than I had originally anticipated and my husband asked that I recreate the recipe at home. After some searching, I came across this recipe from All Recipes and modified it to suit our tastes. It turned out beautifully! Unlike many soups that aren’t quite filling, this one has a higher fat […] Continue reading →

There are certain things we remember about our childhood. Little things  like the crunch of fall leaves under our feet, the smell of the earth as we dug into it with our cubby hands, getting the grittiness underneath our fingernails. I don’t remember much about what I wore, as much as how the garments felt. The silkiness of the Indian saris that I used to run my hands over, or even the thick denim overalls I wore. I’ll always remember those overalls. The metal hooks that clipped onto those little round brass buttons. I loved the sound of that “clink.” I […] Continue reading →

Fitness is not a chore, nor is it something that I dread. It’s become a way of life, something that I do daily to keep my mind, body and soul in tip top shape. There’s a saying that goes something like this “Your children don’t listen to what you say, they listen to what you do.” My girls have been watching me closely as I dance, run and practice yoga. Naturally they want to be just like me, from the activities I do right down to the clothes I wear. It’s hard to find affordable activewear, which is why I’m […] Continue reading →

ROAR 2014

As I type this from my hotel room, 30 women from across North America are boarding planes to Costa Rica in order to attend the first inaugural ROAR Retreat, “a social media retreat for professional bloggers and women who also have a major wanderlust and aren’t afraid of adventure.” Last year during the ABC Expo in Las Vegas, an exposition that I have been attending for the past four years, I was walking the floors with my friend and colleague Andrea Fellman from Savvy Sassy Moms and threw this idea that had been on my mind for quite some time and […] Continue reading →
