Monica & Andy

Where have you been all my life? I was recently introduced to Monica & Andy’s line of children’s wear, baby layettes and accessories and I have to say, I’m smitten… and slightly jealous of the new mothers who get to experience this line of coziness. This Chicago-based apparel and blanket company carries a full line of products that are top notch. I’ve come across hundreds upon hundreds of baby blankets and muslin blankets, but Monica & Andy are on point and dare I say…slightly ahead of the game with their line. The Coming Home blanket is oversized and drapes beautifully […] Continue reading →

It was bound to happen. When Rebecca Minkoff, the infamous bag designer became a mother for the first time, I knew we were in for a treat. She dipped her toes in the maternity market when she partnered with Bravado on their limited edition nursing tank collection and just recently released a maternity collection for A Pea in the Pod. It’s funny because I was just interviewed by Metro New York on the upcoming maternity trends and Minkoff touched on many of them with this collection. Graphic tees with cute sayings are in this season. It’s not something we’ve seen […] Continue reading →

IKEA has recalled 169,000 of their VYSSA style crib mattresses with the following five model names: VACKERT, VINKA, SPELEVINK, SLÖA and SLUMMER. The involved mattresses were manufactured on May 4, 2014 or earlier. An identification label attached to the mattress cover has the date of manufacture in Month-DD-YYYY format and the VYSSA model name. The firm has received two reports of infants becoming entrapped between the mattress and an end of the crib. The children were removed from the gap […] Continue reading →

Alphabet Photography Let Them Be

First off, I love the name of this collection! It’s so fitting and so perfect especially when you’re dealing with children as your subject. Celebrity Photographer Jennifer Blakeley recently released her highly anticipated photography collection this week titled “Let Them Be” artistically depicting young children laughing, being silly, and exhibiting genuine emotion. The collection comes as a response to Blakeley’s frustration in observing society, through the use of social media pressuring parents to push their children to be better, do more, act older and just grow up too quickly. “Sometimes, we just need to let kids be kids. Let them […] Continue reading →
