Musser Suite

There is something magical about the Grand Hotel. I guess that’s what happens when your a National Historic Landmark and one of the most loved vacation spots in America since 1887. My family and I have been visiting this incredible spot for several years now and it’s one that never, ever gets old. The rooms are all unique in their own right, having over three dozen historic suites named after former U.S. Presidents, First Ladies and other historic times and individuals. It’s the same hotel where “Somewhere in Time” was filmed and has received the Michigan AAA Four Diamond Award […] Continue reading →

Royal Sonesta Pool

New Orleans is one of those cities that I’ve longed to visit for years now. When an opportunity arose for me to embark on the new Carnival Sunshine cruise ship for it’s inaugural sailing in New Orleans, I was thrilled! This would be our chance to visit one of the most talked about and popular cities in the United States. We decided to arrive a few days early in order to really experience the city, however my procrastination got in the way of accommodations and we happened to be visiting during a very busy time. There were a few conferences […] Continue reading →

Several weeks ago, I shared my experience of the Azul Beach Resort in Cancun, Mexico on Babble. Having stayed at both the Generations Maroma and Azul Beach, this resort came in as my all-time favorite thanks to the boutique experience that we received during our trip. I’ll dive into more detail later on, but for now I wanted to share details on the room I stayed in. Karisma is so incredibly efficient with their accommodations as I shared previously with our coverage on Generations Maroma. The rooms could comfortably sleep 5, but you never felt crowded thanks to the slide-out […] Continue reading →

Last year, I took my then 6-year-old, 4-year-old and 18-month-old on a winter camping trip – by myself. My husband was unable to get away from our business and the idea of camping in a yurt in the middle of winter did not appeal to him in the least. He tried to convince me otherwise, but once he realized I had set my mind to it, he just shrugged and wished us a good time. Smart man! Our trip was unlike anything I had ever done before and being the rookie that I was, we decided to camp at Windy […] Continue reading →

Ever since I was engaged to be married in St. Martin, this island of two nations has held a special place in my heart. My ring was bought on the Dutch side and the proposal happened on the French, making the betrothal of two Canadians a truly international affair. Or, at least that’s how I’ll always view it. Returning this year with my 11 year old as a Port of Call with Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas was a special treat. It’s not every day you get to share with your children where your story as a family began. […] Continue reading →

Ritz Carlton

I love Ritz-Carlton. We took our kids to the Ritz-Carlton Toronto a couple of years ago and my husband and I were both amazed at how well they work with children. From the personalized check-in counter to the spa services, this is one luxury hotel chain that really caters to the next generation of travelers! Now, to add to their excellent service, the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company has released details on their new Ritz Kids children’s programming through an expanded partnership with Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ocean Futures Society.
