Quantum of the Seas - Dining & Entertainment

I mentioned in my previous posts about Quantum of the Seas that I had never been on a cruise before. As a newbie, one of the things I was nervous about was the dining – I’d always heard that choices were limited and you had to sit with people you don’t know. Royal Caribbean revamped everything for their new smartship, including all the food and entertainment. They have introduced what they call “Dynamic Dining” which allows guests to choose from 18 different restaurants with no set dining times. The restaurants range from the incredibly elegant Grande (I was looking around […] Continue reading →

I have to admit, the thing I got most excited about when boarding Royal Caribbean’s Quantum of the Seas for the first time was the promise of tech. We were able to sign up for mini-tours and this cruise was so chock full on innovations that a newbie cruiser like myself was over the moon. We got to visit the bridge and hear about safety from the captain himself. We went below deck to see how the ship recycles […] Continue reading →

Nadia was unable to attend, so I was happy to go in her place and experience my first ever cruise. This was the first time people from the press and bloggers were able to tour the completed ship. Sooooo… a lot of firsts. The ship left from New York City and began a quick […] Continue reading →

Passion Island

I’ve been to Mexico a couple of times, however one of the most amazing spots I had the pleasure of visiting, was actually an excursion that I took with Carnival Cruise Lines. Isla de Pasion, also known as Passion Island, is located approximately 30-40 minutes from Cozumel by ferry. Just breathtaking. Where can you find a beach like this in Mexico? I had yet to see one, until we visited Passion Island. What we loved the most about this island is the exclusivity you felt while visiting. Miles of white sand, a pristine beach and the entire island to yourself […] Continue reading →

As you know, we are a big fan of Carnival’s new ships. The Carnival Sunshine isn’t technically “new” although you would never guess it when onboard. Previously the Carnival Destiny,  the Carnival Sunshine holds 3,002 passengers and features everything from an onboard waterpark, a SkyCourse, an incredible amount of restaurants and activities onboard.  Last November we were invited onboard this new ship and took part in the Christening festivities. During the dockside ceremony in New Orleans, Lin Arison, the widow of Ted Arison (founder of Carnival Cruise Lines) christened the ship. Carnival also made a donation of $25,000 to the YoungArts […] Continue reading →
