Frozen Tour Quebec City

Although I’m Canadian, as of February 2014, I had yet to go dog-sledding. It’s a little odd as dog-sledding is a major activity in this country, but I just had never got around to it. When I saw the activity listed in our agenda for the “Frozen” press event in Quebec City, I was completely stoked! Finally, I’d get my chance to see what the hubbub was all about. We visited Pourveoirie du Lac Beauport  in the late afternoon and received the full run-down by one of the guides at the establishment. He was extremely thorough and gave us a […] Continue reading →

Hotel de Glace - Ice Hotel

Quebec City is home to rich history and plenty of activities, but it’s shining star is North America’s only ice hotel. The Hotel de Glace has been on my bucket list for several years now, so when I was offered the chance to sleep at the hotel and experience this wonder of ice and snow, I jumped on it! What’s it like to sleep on an ice bed and how did I not freeze during the night when the temperature was -15C? I’ll tell you! Check-in time is quite late for a hotel and it was recommended that we arrive […] Continue reading →

I would close my eyes and let my mind wander as I visited far off places and exotic locales. I loved how books opened up my imagination for me and let me travel to places that no real place could […] Continue reading →

This incredible ice room was created entirely out of sculpted ice and snow and supervised by the film’s art director Michael Giaimo. Yes, you read that right – an ice room! There are many items on my life list, things that I dream of doing, some that I’m in the midst of accomplishing and others that are have already been checked off. “Ride in a hot air balloon” is one of those items that now has a line struck through it. A couple of months ago I was lucky enough to be a part of a press trip to Kissimmee, Florida where we stayed in a huge home courtesy of Global Resort Homes. During that trip, my mind was opened to the many activities this area offered. When I think of […] Continue reading →

On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, you can visit any of the 401 National Parks without paying a dime.
