After taking a bit of a hiatus, Tommy Hilfiger is reintroducing their children’s footwear line for Fall 2012 – this time with a new licensee. Synclaire Brands will be taking the place of Stride Rite who previously held the license. According to WWD, the line will take inspiration from the latest footwear trends, interpreting them within the Tommy Hilfiger world.

The collection will include boots, ballet flats and slippers for the girls and loafers, sneakers and hikers for boys. Look for stripes, color-blocking and plaid and houndstooth patterns, using tweed, denim, corduroy and chambray fabrics. Extra attention was paid to detail, from trims to printed linings.

The new collection is slated to ship to stores in July and prices will range from $20 to $50. Hilfiger plans on expanding the line to include flip-flops, sandals, nautical looks and a wider range of sneakers for spring ’13.

Gucci has released their 2012 Spring/Summer resort-ready fashion line for kids! This fun nautical and jungle inspired collection is full of stripes, classic chambray and color neutrals.

For Spring/Summer 2012, Frida Giannini, the Creative Director of Gucci has designed a functional, chic and lively collection for young travelers who can either set sail, trek through the jungle or attend a garden tea party in colorful clothes. The trends are inspired by “The Little Travelers”.

Nautical stripes and a classic palette of red, white and blue dominate the marine theme and welcome a new print – the letter G intertwined win an anchor. This emblem can be spotted on tees, bags, shoes and knitwear. Anchor-embossed gold buttons look adorable on the dapper peacoats and white trousers, offering a true “Little Captain” look.

You’ll notice a real jungle theme going on as well.

For boys, little explorers can opt for easy and casual pieces such as Bermuda shorts in denim or cotton poplin (sometimes treated for a vintage effect), pastel-colored cashmere sweaters, safari jackets, lightweight parkas and apparel in savannah-inspired colors such as aloe green, sand, dusty yellow and toffee brown.

Girls head to the seaside in blue and white with pops of cherry red and of course plenty of stripes. Ruffle-front camis, shorts, frisky skirts and tees with heart polka dots offer a fresh look. Again, look for Safari themes in the line, this time in straw and rose blush. The Gucci bird (a favorite from the House) appear on long and short tees as an applique or applied with colored micro studs. The dusty color palette includes aloe, rose, yellow, butter, mint and accents of crocus purple.

In addition, you’ll notice a dreamy, color infused line-up of cropped cardigans, t-shirts, pleated dresses and breezy camisoles are inspired by the latest women’s collection. Frida Giannnini has designed beautiful silk organdie dresses, long sleeve tees and fine knitwear with plenty of floral applications.

Celebrating their sixth year donating to UNICEF, Gucci has donated one million dollars to their “Schools for Africa” initiative and continues to support the charity through their children’s collection.

It’s here! On Monday Burberry debuted their beautiful Spring Summer 2012 Childrenswear Collection, which like their previous lines includes Mini-Me looks inspired by their runway looks from the Men’s and Women’s Prorsum line.

A mega-trend color this year for all things “kids fashion” is blue and Burberry has used various shades of it throughout this collection, in particular – pale china blue, imperial blue, navy, military navy and turquoise. Beautiful accents of greens, jade, various shades of yellow such as celandine and gorse, oranges, military red, crimson, pink and purples can also be found in abundance.

Burberry has also got a little adventurous with their prints and patterns, something you don’t see too often.

You’ll find plenty of coats in the collection with focuses on tradition as well as some new styles – trench coats, heritage outerwear, parkas, pea coats, duffle coats, puffer jackets, quilted jackets, reversible jackets as well as a line of check shirts, mouliné knits, cashmere knits, jerseys, piqués, dresses and jumpsuits.

Confession of the day: I have been stalking TOMS daily, ever since they announced that they were coming out with Ballet Flats for 2012. And this morning, I was greeted to oh what a fabulous surprise – the shoes we’ve been waiting for have officially arrived!

If you love TOMS adorable kids styles and beautiful wedges, but weren’t so fussy about their regular styled shoes – these are most definitely for you! Dare I say, I think the Spring/Summer 2012 collection from DKNY Kids is their best one yet! Split up into 5 different collections, all inspired by different subjects, the Spring/Summer line has one thing in common – lots and lots of color! Shaking off the chill of the cold winter months, DKNY jumps into Spring and Summer full force with uplifting color and city-smart charm.

Uptown chic gets a rock ‘n’ roll edge, in New York City. You’ll see plenty of flirty tiered skirts, sleek leather jackets, scarf print frocks topped with ruffled collar coats, red satin trousers (I know!) and full striped cardigans. Sweatshirts are glammed up with chains and sequined silkscreens jazz up the tops. Look for a palette with this season’s hottest colors – red and azalea blue.

You would think, with a name like Serenity that a collection of clothing would be toned down, perhaps slightly boring? Not so with this one. A calmer collection perhaps, but certainly not boring! Neutrals are touched with black and gold, metallic leather accents trim clean-lined cardigans and loose chine jersey tops look fab against skinny trousers.

Vintage City pays tribute to romantic strolls across the Brooklyn Bridge with hues of almond, pansy, lily and washed out blues. Tiny pink flowers are sprayed across sailor stripes and green belts add a pop of colour. Lots of ruffles and fringe is found on shirts, tees and scarves.

Nomad Chic evokes a Bohemian ’70′s vibe with soft hues of lily, powder pink, pale trench, grey and blue. Cotton voile is light in texture, tie dyed, and embellished with cut-work embroidery. long loose sundresses, lacy blouses and flowy tees all add to the ‘flower child’ look.

Then of course, there is Colorblock, splashing tutti-frutti shades of mint, peach and Hawaiian blue with voile scares floating in the breeze . What about the boys you ask? They get into the spirit of the season with a mix of vintage, military and bold Hawaiian florals. You’ll find lots of army jackets, bleached-out jeans, surfer tees, graphics, gabardine trench coats and cargo shorts. Neutrals are brightened with splashes of blue, green, vivid red and turquoise.

They have launched everything from swimwear to nail polish and now Kourtney, Kim and Khloé Kardashian have teamed up once again to design a new line of denim, exclusive to Sears.Kim took to Twitter to announce the launch of the new line saying:

 ”Our Kardashian Kollection for Sears denim line is officially here!! There are three styles, each named after my sisters and me.”I’m wearing The Kim, which is a sexy, low cut, straight leg jean. Last week Jessica Alba, Christopher Gavigan, Brian Lee and Sean Kane announced the launch of their brand new eco-friendly company called The Honest Company during a posh event hosted by my friend Nicole Feliciano, Founder & Editor of Mom Trends.

The company has an interesting concept, they have put together an eco-friendly line of family essentials and are offering them through a monthly subscription service at Honest.com. Jessica Alba, like most of us was frustrated with the lack of eco-friendly options and took matters into her own hands.

Liz Lange, the renowned maternity fashion designer, has designed a collection of three chic diaper bags exclusive to Target. The stylish and sensible bags are an expansion of her popular Liz Lange for Target maternity collection.

As you can see the exteriors don’t scream ‘baby’ and look quite chic. Some features include quilt-stitching, on-trend prints (zebra is very hot right now!) as well as gold hardware.

In regards to the interior – it is all about baby! There are plenty of pockets to store all of your gear and each bag is lined with a hot pink water-resistant fabric.

You can find Liz Lange’s new line in Target stores starting today. All of the styles are affordable and can be snatched up for $49.00 USD.

Another big designer is joining the children’s fashion world and this time it’s Isaac Mizrahi. The New York designer officially announced his plans to launch a signature collection of clothing and accessories for newborns and infants. His company has teamed up with bon bébé and Xcel Brands in a licensing deal to both manufacture and distribute the line.

Although he is known for his adult fashions, Mizrahi isn’t a stranger to kids fashion, in fact during the ’50′s, ’60′s and ’70′s, his father Isadore ran a a boys’ apparel line called Rydal Manufacturing.

WWD reports that Isaac Mizrahi’s new baby line will include a black and white group, that is meant to ‘be a funny take on sophisticated adult clothing”. The 25-piece infants’ collection will debut in department stores and specialty stores in fall 2012, with girls’ and boys’ clothing expected to be added down the road.
