Everyone around me seems to be getting pregnant. I’ve joked that there must be something in the water, but my generation seems to be settling down now, starting their families and building a nest. The photos on Facebook and countless baby bumps, combined with my eldest daughter’s 9th birthday yesterday (whaaaat?!) have had me thinking back to my own pregnancies. My first pregnancy was honestly the most special. I was becoming a mother for the first time, everything was new and unknown. Scary yet terribly exciting. When we found out I was pregnant, my husband and I broke into happy […] Continue reading →

Shopping tends to get a little more challenging when you have children. Instead of that deep yearning to check out every store, you find yourself drawn to the ones that have everything you need under one roof. The parking, the buckling and unbuckling of car seats, the traffic, kids asking if we’re almost done – it’s exhausting.  If you ask my husband what my favourite store is in the city, he will answer with “Marshalls” almost immediately. Whether I’m shopping for myself or my family, it’s my go-to store for brand-name fashions, gifts, kitchenware and toys at a deeply discounted price.  Over the weekend, […] Continue reading →

I love purses, I really do. In fact, I used to collect handbags…until I became a mother. Handbags were replaced by diaper bags and now my pocket holds my debit and credit card most days (if I’m lucky). I’ve succumb to the bad habit of carrying around two cards and leaving my wallet at home. We are forever in a rush and somehow it’s become my norm. The problem with this is that I usually miss out on collecting points on purchases as I never have my loyalty rewards cards with me.  Recently I was introduced to an app called […] Continue reading →

Gap launched their Casting Call 2015 a few days ago! This incredibly popular contest celebrates kids being kids, by inviting parents to submit photos of their children for the chance to be featured in a GapKids or babyGap marketing campaign.  This year, as part of the submission process, parents can create a playful, animated video that captures their child’s unique personality and can be shared with friends and family to spread the word about the contest. Back by popular demand, parents can also encourage others to vote for their child in the finalist phase of the program, allowing the GapKids community to […] Continue reading →

Junk Food comes out with the best designs with original and quirky touches each and every year and I’m always sure to purchase a few pieces from their collaboration with Gap. Keith Haring & Jean-Michel Basquiat are two artists Gap and Junk Food have always had an affinity for. They were both born out of the streets and with naive styles they were able to tell very complex narratives with the perspective that art is to be shared and enjoyed by everyone. Keith Haring has such a signature line style from which they have chosen iconic elements while bringing more […] Continue reading →
