Nadia's Notes

September was Self Improvement Month, which was quite fitting considering the series of events that took place. As you may have noticed things have been a little quiet around here. I was busy hosting the ROAR Retreat in Costa Rica with my friend and business partner, Andrea Fellman. Being around such inspiring, intelligent and confident women was nothing short of inspiring. Andrea wrote a great post covering the gist of it, but there will be more coverage in the following weeks, so keep your eyes peeled! I came home exhausted from the busyness of it all, but a fire in […] Continue reading →

ROAR 2014

As I type this from my hotel room, 30 women from across North America are boarding planes to Costa Rica in order to attend the first inaugural ROAR Retreat, “a social media retreat for professional bloggers and women who also have a major wanderlust and aren’t afraid of adventure.” Last year during the ABC Expo in Las Vegas, an exposition that I have been attending for the past four years, I was walking the floors with my friend and colleague Andrea Fellman from Savvy Sassy Moms and threw this idea that had been on my mind for quite some time and […] Continue reading →

Well, we did it. We broke down and bought a dishwasher. Yes, that’s right in the past 10 years of marriage, 3 kids and 2 businesses later – we’ve done all of our dishes by hand. There was really no need for a dishwasher when it was just us and then when our daughter came along, I was in a blissful state of housewife/new motherhood and was happy dipping my hands in hot soapy water. My husband and I would chat as he dried the dishes – it was fun. 8 years since that day and well, it isn’t so […] Continue reading →

My friend Amy Bellgardt from Mom Spark invited me to chat about family travel on her weekly Google+ series, Mom Spark Live. I chatted with her and our very own Desiree Fawn about tips for traveling with young children, the things you should bring, our all time favourite way to travel and lots of other fun things. If you didn’t have a chance to watch live, you can view the entire event in the video below. Mom Spark Live is a weekly chat that provides all sorts of information on everything from parenting and tech, to travel and style! You […] Continue reading →

I’ve always loved journals. The hardback cover, the sound of each turning page, blank and begging to be filled with stories, ideas and the future. Ringing in the new year has always felt a little bit like like that. Saying goodbye to the previous year and turning a new page, a blank slate. You say goodbye to the journal of the previous year and crack open a blank book, one ready and willing to carry your dreams, your thoughts and your future. 2013 was an epic year for me and my family. We travelled the world and made a big […] Continue reading →

A very Merry Christmas from my family to yours. May your days be full of joy, happiness and a whole lot of love! We’ll be taking a break from posting for the next couple of days as we spend this time with our family and friends. Wishing everyone a magical holiday! xo The Carriere […] Continue reading →

Thanksgiving is all about thankfulness and gratefulness, but it doesn’t end there. I have quite a few sayings on my office wall that provide a great source of inspiration to me during my day. Yesterday, during some time spent on GoodReads, I came across this quote and I knew I had to share it with you all. Read it, live it, pin it and bookmark it. If life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Do good anyway and always. Give the world the best you have always, no matter what! xo […] Continue reading →
