My Inner Fire

I’m a little bit of a yoga pant aficionado. I don’t even want to admit how many pairs I have. Capris, shorts, yoga leggings – I’m obsessed with them all! Last year I came across a new (to me) company based in Canada, that finds inspiration for their designs from nature and the beauty that surrounds us. The leggings are designed and manufactured in Vancouver, BC and are made from 88% recycled polyester and 12% spandex. The material is treated with anti-microbial Chitosante treatment which means less stink! Specialized printing process means no inks are wasted in the process and […] Continue reading →

Until 3 years ago, I had never ran a mile. I loathed running with all my being and never dreamt that one day I would run a race what to speak of a 1/2 marathon. After giving birth to my son I came across a training program to help you run a 5K. The first couple of weeks were torturous but I pushed through and reached my 5K goal. Then I wanted more, so I trained for a 10K and ran my very first race. It was challenging but I did it and felt oh so proud of myself. And […] Continue reading →

When I came across a photo of the classic green Army men doing yoga poses, Yoga Joes, I stopped in my tracks to smile. How awesome and innovate to take a toy that spans generations, and give it a peaceful twist, while also reminding people that yoga is for everyone from all walks of life. I will be pre-ordering a set of these for my son as soon as I can! Yoga Joes was launched through a Kickstarter campaign (which was fully-funded, yay!) by a company called Brogamats. Brogamats’ tag line is “Yoga for dudes. And women too.” Their company […] Continue reading →

September was Self Improvement Month, which was quite fitting considering the series of events that took place. As you may have noticed things have been a little quiet around here. I was busy hosting the ROAR Retreat in Costa Rica with my friend and business partner, Andrea Fellman. Being around such inspiring, intelligent and confident women was nothing short of inspiring. Andrea wrote a great post covering the gist of it, but there will be more coverage in the following weeks, so keep your eyes peeled! I came home exhausted from the busyness of it all, but a fire in […] Continue reading →

Fitness is not a chore, nor is it something that I dread. It’s become a way of life, something that I do daily to keep my mind, body and soul in tip top shape. There’s a saying that goes something like this “Your children don’t listen to what you say, they listen to what you do.” My girls have been watching me closely as I dance, run and practice yoga. Naturally they want to be just like me, from the activities I do right down to the clothes I wear. It’s hard to find affordable activewear, which is why I’m […] Continue reading →

Healing Mix

I’m a little bit of a health fanatic. Nothing goes in my grocery cart unless the ingredient list has been scanned and then double checked yet again. Unless it’s a whole food, chances are it won’t be coming into my home.   Last month, I took part in a Twitter party for Healing Mix, a product that is designed for new moms postpartum, but can really be used by anyone. After reading the ingredient list (more on that in a second) I was immediately on board! I can also understand the healing concept behind this as I felt very weak after […] Continue reading →
