The Buffalo Chicken Wing Super Bowl Cupcakes above may very well be one of the oddest and strangest recipe ideas I’ve ever seen. As I am vegetarian, they don’t appeal to me personally, however I was intrigued with the recipe. Go on, take a look and tell me what you think. Regardless of how you feel, you have to admit the photo is fascinating.

These Fabulous Filbert Football Cookies (aka Super Bowl Cookies) are cute and easy for kids to put together. Also, any recipe that combines white chocolate chips with hazelnuts has to be good!

Guacamole is a must of course, although I have to say I would probably omit the cilantro as my kiddos aren’t big fans.

As you know, we are big fans of the iPad and my girls use it on a daily basis for videos, games and as a school supplement. There is a slight problem though – we only have one. This can prove to be a problem when you are traveling in a vehicle for over 5 hours, which is why I have stopped travelling with it all together. If they can’t share, forgetaboutit.

When I saw the new iWood, I was thrilled! This neat little travel art case is designed by German design company Donkey Products. The case is designed to look like a laptop and instead of a track pad there’s a neat little rectangular slot for chalk.

Think of this as the 21st century Etch-a-Sketch. It’s sturdy enough to prop up on laps (perfect for travelling) and gives your kids a break from the screen. Sure you can’t listen to music or swipe to play, but it gives your child’s imagination a workout and at 40 Euros (approximately $53 USD) it is also considerably more affordable then the iPad.

There are all sorts of fun ‘rocking animals’ for kids to play with these days, but none quite as realistic as The Rocking Sheep. While roaming through Etsy I cam across these handmade rockers from California which are made using Baltic birch plywood, reclaimed scrap wood and real sheepskin. The wood is then finished off with a low V.O.C. water-based polyurethane, making this as earth-friendly as it is charming.

The Rocking Sheep is a take on an original mid-century design by Danish Designer Povl Kjer, who is known for his incredible work at the Hans Christian Anderson Museum, Carlsberg brewery and LEGO. His fluffy black, brown, grey and pink rocking sheep are made from a varnished pine, padded with foam rubber and then upholstered in lambskin.

Max Tyrie’s version is a wholesome version of this and each and every prototype and design revision has been fastidiously test ridden by his 18-month old daughter, Rosie.

Almost every holiday I like to invite some of my friends over with their little ones for a holiday party. The Mom’s usually work together – one hosts, the others bring a dish – and it’s always a blast for all involved. Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and I am preparing to send out the invite to my fellow moms any day now.

The best part for me is the planning. I love to search around and see what sort of new decorating ideas or gift ideas I can come up with. I especially love Valentine’s Day because it gives me an excuse to go overboard on the pinks and reds, in a house where there is a lot more blue and green!

If you know me personally you will already know that I am basically a health freak. Yes, I said it . 90% of all the food we eat is made from scratch, I am an advocate for whole foods and feed my kids green smoothies and juices on a daily basis.

That being said there is a brand that I trust when I need a quick snack that is healthy and doesn’t require me getting dishes dirty. Kashi. This company is one that has a great track record for providing great tasting, nutritious foods that help people add nutrients to their diet. This month, Kashi is introducing three new products to their fantastic line-up of cereals and healthy snacks. I was planning on taking pictures of the products first-hand, but we were too busy eating them all to remember.

I will admit I was hesitant to try the new Toasted Cinnamon Crisp Cereal because of the sugar content, however this one is not bad at all. Unlike sugary boxed cereals, this one is rich in protein, whole grains, fibre and is low in sugar and saturated fat. Each 3/4 cup serving provides 9 grams of fibre, 10 grams of protein, 19 grams of whole grain and 5 essential nutrients. The kids loved it as did I.

Kashi Pita Crisps are amazing and taste fantastic with guacamole, salsa or hummus. We had a chance to try out the new Original 7 Grain with Sea Salt and Zesty Salsa. The kids preferred the Sea Salt variation as the Zesty Salsa was a bit spicy for them, whereas I prefered the Salsa variation. The flavor was very fresh as opposed to that ‘powdered flavor’ we are so used to with packaged snacks. I was quite impressed.

Kashi Snack Crackers are extremely wholesome and fibre rich as they are made using Kashi’s Seven Whole Grains & Sesame blend. The Fire Roasted Vegetable and Toasted Asiago are both fantastic.
