Everyone around me seems to be getting pregnant. I’ve joked that there must be something in the water, but my generation seems to be settling down now, starting their families and building a nest. The photos on Facebook and countless baby bumps, combined with my eldest daughter’s 9th birthday yesterday (whaaaat?!) have had me thinking back to my own pregnancies. My first pregnancy was honestly the most special. I was becoming a mother for the first time, everything was new and unknown. Scary yet terribly exciting. When we found out I was pregnant, my husband and I broke into happy […] Continue reading →

Between visits with friends and trips to the store, beach and back again, hand sanitizer is a must for our family when traveling locally or out of town. It’s incredible how quickly germs spread and if my kids aren’t using a form of sanitizer or soap, they’re bound to all get sick in some way or another.  I can’t afford to get sick. As a yoga teacher, writer and business owner I truly can’t afford to get any sort of bug, which is why I carry these little bottles of PURELL around in my car, purse and glove box. The larger […] Continue reading →

I love purses, I really do. In fact, I used to collect handbags…until I became a mother. Handbags were replaced by diaper bags and now my pocket holds my debit and credit card most days (if I’m lucky). I’ve succumb to the bad habit of carrying around two cards and leaving my wallet at home. We are forever in a rush and somehow it’s become my norm. The problem with this is that I usually miss out on collecting points on purchases as I never have my loyalty rewards cards with me.  Recently I was introduced to an app called […] Continue reading →

Until 3 years ago, I had never ran a mile. I loathed running with all my being and never dreamt that one day I would run a race what to speak of a 1/2 marathon. After giving birth to my son I came across a training program to help you run a 5K. The first couple of weeks were torturous but I pushed through and reached my 5K goal. Then I wanted more, so I trained for a 10K and ran my very first race. It was challenging but I did it and felt oh so proud of myself. And […] Continue reading →

Alphabet Photography Let Them Be

First off, I love the name of this collection! It’s so fitting and so perfect especially when you’re dealing with children as your subject. Celebrity Photographer Jennifer Blakeley recently released her highly anticipated photography collection this week titled “Let Them Be” artistically depicting young children laughing, being silly, and exhibiting genuine emotion. The collection comes as a response to Blakeley’s frustration in observing society, through the use of social media pressuring parents to push their children to be better, do more, act older and just grow up too quickly. “Sometimes, we just need to let kids be kids. Let them […] Continue reading →

The innocence and purity of a child is one of the most beautiful things. It’s something that many adults can learn from. I saw something today that warmed my heart and put a smile on my face.  An Italian media company called Ciaopeople Media Group put together a video showcasing the results of a certain social experiment. They interviewed four boys between 7 and 11 years of age and introduced them to a girl called Martina.  The boys were asked to caress Martina, make a funny face and then to slap her – hard. Their reactions and responses are just…well you’ll have to […] Continue reading →
