Liz Lange, the renowned maternity fashion designer, has designed a collection of three chic diaper bags exclusive to Target. The stylish and sensible bags are an expansion of her popular Liz Lange for Target maternity collection.

As you can see the exteriors don’t scream ‘baby’ and look quite chic. Some features include quilt-stitching, on-trend prints (zebra is very hot right now!) as well as gold hardware.

In regards to the interior – it is all about baby! There are plenty of pockets to store all of your gear and each bag is lined with a hot pink water-resistant fabric.

You can find Liz Lange’s new line in Target stores starting today. All of the styles are affordable and can be snatched up for $49.00 USD.

One of my favourite handbag designers Rebecca Minkoff, is holding an incredibly sale for the next couple of days, with many of their top selling bags on for up to 50% off! Her baby bags usually sell out fairly quickly, which is why I was surprised to see these two listed.

The Marissa baby bag is one of Minkoff’s newer styles and perhaps one of my favorites. It is made from a quilted lightweight nylon and features a water resistant lining. The bag measures 16″ wide x 6.5″ deep x 11″ tall. The regular retail price is $395, but it is currently on sale for $215.

The Jodi Baby Bag is made from a lightweight cotton fabric printed with a fun zebra print.  It is outfitted with custom gold tone hardware and features the same water resistant lining as the first. This one is a little smaller and measures 14″ x 4″ x 11″. Priced at $215 from the regular $395.

I’ve always loved Petunia Picklebottom and have coveted their beautiful silk bags for years. Those adorable rolls and other styles came in so many beautiful silk prints it was hard to choose. Fast forward 6 years later and the company is even better than ever!

For fall, they have come out with some beautiful new prints for their classic Boxy Backpacks as well as their other line which has since extended to everything from diaper clutches to cell phone cases. The Change It Up Clutch (pictured above) is a handy bag that  can be worn over the shoulder or wristlet style. The fabric is glazed so you don’t have to worry about it getting dirty – just wipe clean. The clutch is a perfect solution for those who don’t wish to tote a bag around during a party or an evening out.

Like the look of the classic clutch? PPB has another take with their Cross Town, also in a glazed fabric. I love the embroidered details on these bags, it adds a real charm.

The Sashay Satchel is my favourite bag out of the entire Original Collection. The design of the Sashay is completely different from Petunia Picklebottom’s traditional boxy style diaper bag. The body is much slimmer and the overall design offers a real modern look. You can easily switch this up from a satchel to a backpack and from diaper bag to handbag. The new prints for fall include Blissful Buttercup, Indelible Iris, Moonlit Moments, Positively Plaid, Rambling Rose and Tranquil Tulips.

Before I had my first child, the term “diaper bag” conjured up visuals of cutesy teddy bear covered vinyl and pale pink and blue shoulder bags that just screamed “baby.” Thankfully, those bags have nearly long been phased out by much classier and fashionable styles and companies are now designing versions that rival some of the hottest designer handbags out there.

For the last couple of seasons, we’ve seen quite a few classy designs that are real head turners, but in my opinion Fall 2011 is turning out to be the best season yet!

Upon my travels searching for a new diaper bag,I came across these gorgeous prints from Marc Jacobs. Am I the only one who was not aware that the famed MJ designed diaper bags?

Although the design is quite simple with its cotton quilted structure, I quite like the look. The Marc by Marc Jacobs Pretty Nylon Eliz-A-Baby bag offers double shoulder straps, a detachable, adjustable long strap, top zip closure, exterior front, side and back patch pockets with concealed magnetic strap closure, four interior pockets and a diaper changing pad.

The bag measures a generous 20″W x 14″H x 6.25″D and comes in a wide range of colours and prints. Bllomingdales and Endless.com carry the largest selection, but you can find the bags through other online retailers as well.

While pregnant with my first born I received a few diaper bags as gifts, one I really liked, and the others I never used. I never really found that one diaper bag I loved. Now there are now so many styles available, that there is something to suit every taste.

Four and a half years later I have finally found the diaper bag of my dreams – the Recycled “Briage” Diaper Bag designed by Brazilian-based eco-designer Gabi Goncalves.

My favourite part of these Diaper Bags, is that they are all completely handmade by the artist using recycled truck tarps. Goncalves washes and paints and changes up the fabrics before assembling the bag to create a completely funky and unique piece of art.

This bag is not just a gorgeous piece of art, it is most importantly a functional diaper bag. There are plenty of pockets and lots of room to put all of the baby and toddler necessities.

To top off the package, along with the Maria Buzina insignia, Goncalves often includes a personalized message in her native Portugese. It is always amazing when you can see the artists love for their craft in their work.
