How I SCORED With Back-to-School Shopping At My Favorite Store

Shopping tends to get a little more challenging when you have children. Instead of that deep yearning to check out every store, you find yourself drawn to the ones that have everything you need under one roof. The parking, the buckling and unbuckling of car seats, the traffic, kids asking if we’re almost done – it’s exhausting. FullSizeRender_2FullSizeRender_4

If you ask my husband what my favourite store is in the city, he will answer with “Marshalls” almost immediately. Whether I’m shopping for myself or my family, it’s my go-to store for brand-name fashions, gifts, kitchenware and toys at a deeply discounted price.

Over the weekend, my family and I took a trip to the city for our back-to-school shopping haul. Instead of shopping for 2 girls this year, I’m hauling for 3. My son who turns 4-years-old this month will be going to school for the first time in September, so he needed all of the basics.

Our local Marshalls has an entire back-to-school display up as soon as you walk in the door. Backpacks of every size, style and colour are hanging up with a huge array of lunchbox options. My son found one that he loved along with a lunch bag featuring one of his favourite cartoon characters. He adores it.

The spring/summer collections are incredible as well. We found a designer pair of black rain boots and a gorgeous pair of snazzy shoes!

The only problem with Marshalls is that you can’t really hesitate on a purchase and decide to pick it up the following week. There is limited stock of each style and size, so chances are if you don’t grab it straight away, that item will be gone the following day. They get new shipments in daily and the stock is changing so fast. It’s a breath of fresh air really, because there is always something new to be found.

We ended up finding something for just about everyone. marshallshaul

I was able to buy 3 pairs of leggings for my girls, a beautiful grey terry zip-up sweater with lace detailing, a coral pullover with lace shoulder details (my daughter’s pick), a backpack, water bottle, lunchbox, a pair of shoes, rubber boots, 2 short sleeve dress shirts, one long sleeve button-down shirt, a long sleeve pullover, a pair of jeans, a baseball cap, a pair of pyjamas and 3 organic chocolate bars (one was demolished on the way home hence no photo) for $208. Impressive.

If you’re looking for just about anything, head to Marshalls. You won’t be disappointed! Also, head over ASAP for back-to-school items as they will go fast! You can locate a store near you by clicking here or you can also find them on social media: Facebook, Twitter: @marshallscanada and Instagram: @marshallscanada.
