Grand Hotel’s Musser Suite ~ A Video Tour Of Their Luxurious New Addition!
There is something magical about the Grand Hotel. I guess that’s what happens when your a National Historic Landmark and one of the most loved vacation spots in America since 1887. My family and I have been visiting this incredible spot for several years now and it’s one that never, ever gets old.
The rooms are all unique in their own right, having over three dozen historic suites named after former U.S. Presidents, First Ladies and other historic times and individuals. It’s the same hotel where “Somewhere in Time” was filmed and has received the Michigan AAA Four Diamond Award for 19th years in a row.
As a family, we adore this hotel as it allows us to step back in time and vacation in class and dine in style. It’s one of the few hotels that still offer the American Dining Plan. You can read our full review of the hotel in our previous feature from a year ago.
For 2014, The Grand Hotel has unveiled their new Musser Suite, a one-bedroom suite on its fourth floor providing an incredible view of the Mackinac Bridge and the entire Straits of Mackinac. The suite is named for the late Grand Hotel Chairman R. D. “Dan” Musser Jr., who played a key role at the hotel from 1951 until his passing one year ago.
The Musser Suite is the first room to be added to the hotel since it opened its Millennium Wing in 2001. It is Grand Hotel’s only one-bedroom suite and the first step in a plan to add seven additional two-bedroom suites to the historic hotel over the next three years.
The carpeting was custom-woven in Connemara, Ireland and there are all sorts of unique features you’ll notice in this suite. Instead of sharing more details with words, I thought it would be even more fun to share a full video tour of this suite!
For more information and/or to book the new Musser Suite, please visit the Grand Hotel’s website for rates and availability. Last I heard, they were almost sold out for the summer, however they do have many other gorgeous rooms to choose from! We stayed in a balcony room and had an amazing view of the street!
Disclosure: The Grand Hotel provided our family with comped accommodations during our media stay. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
