Carnival Sunshine ~ Behind The Scenes Of The Christening & Room Tour
As you know, we are a big fan of Carnival’s new ships. The Carnival Sunshine isn’t technically “new” although you would never guess it when onboard. Previously the Carnival Destiny, the Carnival Sunshine holds 3,002 passengers and features everything from an onboard waterpark, a SkyCourse, an incredible amount of restaurants and activities onboard.
Last November we were invited onboard this new ship and took part in the Christening festivities. During the dockside ceremony in New Orleans, Lin Arison, the widow of Ted Arison (founder of Carnival Cruise Lines) christened the ship. Carnival also made a donation of $25,000 to the YoungArts and the New World Symphony. It’s always incredible to be part of a cruise ship’s christening. This is my third time attending one. Although the video below is quite long, it’s just a snippet of the fun we experienced and I wanted to share it with you all!
The rooms on the Carnival Sunshine are almost identical to the Carnival Breeze. A neutral colour scheme makes you feel relaxed and at home. There are no gaudy colours or bright shades on the walls and everything is super spiffy. This is the first time we were in a room that was NOT adjoining. It was slightly nerve-wracking at first, but ended up working beautifully as we could still get through each room with our adjoining balconies.
I’ll be following up with more on the Carnival Sunshine, with both dining and all of the fun and activities you’ll find on-board. The offerings are similar to the Carnival Breeze, however there are some new and improved options you’ll want to know about! To top it off, I’ll be sharing information on the ports we visited including our excursions we experienced!
Disclosure: We were invited by Carnival Cruise Lines to experience their new ship. All thoughts and opinions are my own as always.
