KOA Parry Sound Review & a Look at Their New Cottages!
Kampgrounds of Amerca has been a trusted family campground for over 50 years. When I was a kid, my mom took us on a road trip and I remember her purchasing a guide book, highlighting all of the KOA’s along the way. It’s a campground that caters to families and you’ll find over 480 locations scattered across the United States and Canada. I remember looking out the window, waiting for a glimpse of the yellow and black sign on a road sign.
KOA has come a long way since our visit years ago. Over 300 of their locations now offer the option to rent a deluxe cabin! I’ve never camped in a tent. RVs, trailers – yes, but tents…well that’s not something I’ve ventured over to quite yet, so when KOA contacted me and asked if I’d be interested in staying at one of these cabins, I was thrilled! Glamping at it’s finest! We arrived at the KOA Parry Sound just after 2 p.m. and after checking in and receiving a list of the weekend’s festivities, we were escorted to our cabin. The outside was very neat, clean and freshly painted. It was quite obvious that they take great pride in the condition of the grounds!
The living room was equipped with a flat screen television, DVD player and an open concept kitchen (fully equipped). As you can see from the video above, it’s quite cute!
The cabins are such a great choice as they’re warm and cozy during colder days and can cool you off during the warmer ones thanks to the built-in A/C. My friend Desiree Fawn from SoFawned.com and I were beyond thrilled with one amenity in particular – WiFi. We had WiFi in both the cabin and across the property, allowing us to get some work done and indulge in a full evening of Netflix.
A BBQ and picnic table are outside on your deck, providing the option to eat inside or out.
If you’re toying with the idea of camping this summer, I highly recommend KOA as you can’t go wrong with both the amenities and accommodation offerings. They have all sorts of fun activities and perks during your stay, such as movie night and this sweet Father’s Day breakfast display.
At the Parry Sound location, there was an area to play mini golf, a pool and a playground. The last two we were unable to test out as it was too chilly, but we hope to take full advantage of them next time!
Camping brings together friends, nature, the great outdoors and most importantly – peace! We had an amazing time at the KOA Parry Sound and can’t wait to return!
To find a KOA, visit the KOA website or download the KOA App to find a campground and access trip-planning tools. The free app helps campers plan their trips – before they leave home and along the way. Features include the KOA campground finder; integrated online navigation system and driving directions; up-to-date special offers; and alert system to inform campers about road closures, storms or other emergencies.
Disclosure: We were invited by KOA to discover their new amenities and cottages. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
