Azul Beach Resort Review & Why It’s So Great For Families

azulbeachresortreview

Sometimes, you’ll visit a certain destination or resort and the experience will stick with you for a very long time, leaving a lasting impression that you can smell, taste and visualize the minute you close your eyes. I’ve been to many different resorts and hotels, and only a few have done that for me. Azul Beach Resort is one of them. Owned and operated by Karisma Resorts, Azul Beach is one of the many resorts under the Karisma umbrella. Generations, El Dorado and the Azul family are all owned and operated by Karisma. The one thing they have in common is their Gourmet All-Inclusive plan that provides you with just about everything you could possibly want during your vacation, including your own personal butler.

I touched on Azul Beach briefly in my room overview post, but wanted to give you more of an in-depth overview of the resort as a whole.

Located approximately 30 minutes from the Cancun airport, this boutique resort feels different than the other hotels I’ve been to in Mexico. Although it was almost full during our stay, it never felt crowded and the service was incredible. My room was unlike anything I had ever experienced before (hello swim-up pool) and the dining was extraordinary.

There are 5 sit-down restaurants – Blue International, Tainan, Roma, Latino and Chil. You won’t find fast food at any of these locations, everything is fresh, made to order and outstanding taste-wise. If you have any sort of food allergy, dietary or taste preference, they are happy to accommodate and go over and above to ensure that your meal is to your satisfaction.

Not quite a restaurant, the La Mancha Energy Bar is open during the day and serves fresh juices, smoothies, iced tea, coffees, cookies, ice cream and other treats. Parents with babies and toddlers will be happy to know that they have baby food readily available as well!

If you’re traveling with your partner, the Agavero Tequila Lounge is a must-visit! During our stay we were treated to a traditional tequila tasting which forever changed my views and opinions on tequila. The traditional white tequila shot with a squeeze of lemon? That’s not how they do it in Mexico! We tasted 5 different tequilas (some of them included Añejo, Reposado and Blanc). The bar is iced and frozen, keeping your drinks cool and they serve you snacks that pair with the individual tequilas. Amazing experience!

There are three other bars on property for those who wish to have a little fun while they kids are at the kids club!

Between all the little extras, the delicious gourmet all-inclusive options and swim-up suites, Azul Beach won my heart over totally and completely. It’s a resort that I think about fondly and can’t wait to visit again with my family!

Disclosure: Karisma invited us on this media preview trip and all accommodations and transportation was covered. All thoughts and opinions are my own as always.
