Minnie & the Monster – Adorable Handcrafted Wooden Dolls for Little Ones

Minnie and the Monster

This day and age, it’s hard to find a truly adorable, one-of-a-kind toy. Especially of the handmade type. Back in November, I was searching for a sweet nativity set to get for my girls for the Christmas season. Everything I found was either cheap and plastic or really expensive and breakable. Doing one final search on Etsy, I stumbled across Minnie and the Monster, an adorable shop featuring handcrafted wooden playthings, including the sweetest simple nativity I’ve ever seen

I immediately purchased the little Mary, Joseph, and Baby Jesus, and waited for the mailman to deliver our new treasures. When we received the set in the mail, I was completely satisfied. In fact, the little wooden dolls were even cuter in person. My girls played with them all Christmas season long and were sad to pack them away, along with the rest of the holiday decor. With my youngest daughter’s birthday coming up soon, I’ve got my eye on more Minnie and the Monster toys. (She even created custom dolls – she can make your entire family!)2

Minnie and the Monster is a shop run by Jennifer Browning, a homeschooling mama of 3. Her creations are completely adorable and super safe. Each creation is made from sustainably harvested wood and painted by hand with non-toxic watercolors made from things like beetroot, wild mustard, and black elderberry. Everything is done by hand, from sanding and woodburning to painting. Then, they are coated with an organic mix of lavender, beeswax, and jojoba oil before they are packaged up and sent to little ones. Talk about a small business doing things right! 3

Make sure to bookmark Minnie and the Monster on Etsy. You can also find Jennifer on Instagram. Her beautiful creations would make an excellent gift for your next birthday party!
