3 New Can’t Miss Attractions at Universal Orlando

At the beginning of The Simpsons Ride, Homer turns to Lisa and Bart and says “Don’t worry kids. They won’t kill you at a theme park as long you have a dime left in your pocket.” And so begins your journey into the funniest ride ever.

Universal Orlando

I’ve done many rides where I’ve screamed and held my breath, but this is the first time I was laughing so hard at some of the dialogue I was having a hard time screaming. Which is not to say I didn’t want to. There is no doubt that this simulator ride at  Universal Orlando offers up lots of thrills, but it also offers up tons of the trademark Simpson humour. If you’re a fan of the show, you’ll appreciate this ride more than most, but even if you’ve never seen an episode of The Simpsons, it’s pretty hard not to crack a smile the moment the ride begins. Our guides at Universal told us that the producers and writers of the show helped out with the planning of this new ride and it shows in every aspect of this hilarious ride.

Universal Orlando is pulling out all the stops this year and The Simpsons Ride isn’t the only ride you should make a bee line for.

Despicable Me Minion Mayhem is an absolute delight! Once again, creators of the movie were brought in to consult and Steve Carrell who voices Gru will make you grin from ear to ear as the soft-hearted villian who adopted Margo, Edith and Agnes. Of course, this 3D ride is all about the minions so there’s plenty of those affable yellow guys about too. At the end of the ride, there’s a fun Minion dance party you can join in. Just make sure you don’t bring any bananas in with you. There’s no telling what the minions will do!

Finally, you simply can’t miss The Transformers. I know that these big huge machines were not “real” but it certainly didn’t feel that way as we raced through this intensely immersive 3D ride fighting an intergalactic war. I can honestly say that I’ve never seen a Transformers movie but I’m totally into it now after riding this at Universal Orlando, if only to find out the difference between an Autobots and a Decepticons. I don’t want to be a Transformers ignoramus the rest of my life.

On top of the all the other amazing attractions at Universal Orlando, these three new can’t miss attractions at Universal Orlando make this theme park a force to be reckoned with. I can hardly wait to see what they do with the new Diagon Alley in 2014!
