Etihad Airlines are catering to families in a very big way! Earlier this month the airline introduced their Flying Nanny service. The airline has teamed up with nanny school Norland College in order to train their staff to take care of babies and children on board the aircraft. The nannies will wear orange aprons and scarves and are dedicated to helping families on longer flights. Children will receive a special play pack consisting of art materials and coloring supplies and older kids will have the opportunity to tour the plane during quiet times. The kids can try their hand at origami, make their own hand puppets or participate in drawing competitions!
Although I have never flown on Etihad Airlines, I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about the comfort of the planes and overall service onboard. What amazes me about the new Flying Nanny option is that you don’t have to pay extra for this amenity, it is now something they offer to all families who fly with Etihad.
I wonder if American and Canadian airlines will follow suit… What are your thoughts on the Flying Nanny service?
