Where To Find The Best Ice Cream In Providenciales, Turks & Caicos & A Hidden Family Gem
Looking to find the best ice cream in Providenciales, Turks & Caicos? You’re in luck, because I had the oh so difficult task of scouting out the best-of-the-best on the island while visiting The Somerset, and found the perfect spot for those looking for a cold treat.
Devon House i Scream from Kingston, Jamaica has been listed by National Geographic as the fourth best place in the world to eat ice cream. Yes, it’s that good! After testing a couple of different flavours, I can honestly say this stuff is amazing! I’ve never tasted a Rum & Raisin ice cream that’s quite as delicious as theirs.
The Patty Place in Provo sells this famous ice cream and offers a really great selection of flavors, but before you dig into the sweet stuff, be sure to try out their famous patties!
Made from a flaky crust and filled with a delicious combination of either beef, chicken, soy, lobster or vegetable, these tender pastries are delightful! Not quite as thick as a British pasty or as greasy as an Indian samosa, more like a delicious cross between the two. These patties are a must-try while visiting the island and when combined with the ice cream, you have the perfect lunch!
You can find The Patty Place on the corner of La Petite Place in Grace Bay, Providenciales, Turks & Caicos Islands. Telephone: (649) 339-9001
If you walk just up the road from La Petite Place, you’ll find Ports of Call, Providenciales’ largest shopping complex. This is a really cute spot to take the family! Paying tribute to the pirates of Turks & Caicos, Ports of Call is filled with statues, cannons and information on the history of the pirates of the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Fun, fascinating, educational and delicious – all at the same time!
Disclosure: Turks & Caicos Tourism Board treated my daughter and I to lunch at The Patty Place. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
