Car Seat Recall In Canada ~ 26,558 Safety 1st and Eddie Bauer Car Seats

350-330664-894__1

If you live in Canada, read on! It was reported that certain car seats manufactured by Dorel may not comply with Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 213 – Child Restraint Systems. After testing the seats, it was noted that the plastic seat shell cracked, which could allow the seat back to recline excessively and increase the risk of injury from impact forces being transferred to the child during a crash.

The crack tends to expose sharp edges, especially in the case of the Enspira 65 model and thus increases the risk of injury to your child. Transport Canada and Dorel Distribution Canada have actively investigated the non-compliance. The company will notify all registered users with an Owner Notification Letter, with instructions on how to obtain a free shell repair kit. It is very important to note that if you have not registered your car seat, you should contact Dorel immediately at http://recall.djgusa.com/services/productrecall/canadarecalls.html to verify if your model is included in this recall. If their model is included, the consumer should call Dorel’s dedicated Toll free Customer Service Hotline at 1-(877)-416-9335, Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST or email caenspira@djgusa.com or Fax 1-800-207-8182 to obtain their free shell repair kit.

    Hi Nadia
I was very interested in your tweet about this car seat recall but I can’t find any further information about it. There is nothing recent on the Dorel website that I could see and nothing in the Health Canada Recalls. Is this a recent recall or is from awhile ago? Can you provide me with a link to the actual recall notice. We work with infants and families and like to provide them with up to date recall notices that may affect them.

    Thanks so much
    Sharon

Does this recall include the Alpha and Omega 365 model? I don’t see it listed above, but the picture looks very accurate to the carseat I have. Please let me know. Thanks so much!
