Focus On The Dad – Parenthood From His Point Of View

June is the “Month of the Dad” in our home. I’ve got May, he’s got June.

I wrote my husband a letter on Father’s Day which pretty much sums up how I feel about him and what he means to our family. He’s our rock and the foundation of our home. Everything I do in my personal and professional life is because of his encouragement and faith in me. He is my inspiration and my children’s idol.

We often hear so much from the moms, but I thought it might be fun to do a little Q&A with my husband. Sometimes a father’s perspective can give an entire new outlook on things. So without further adieu, here are some Dad to Dad Tips. I think we might be on to something…

How did you feel when we welcomed our first little girl for the first time.

I thought I died and went to heaven. I witnessed the most incredible miracle of my life. Can’t explain the joy, it was overwhelming.

What scared you the most?

I was scared to hold my daughter because she was so tiny and fragile. I thought I would break her. It took me a few weeks to get over that. I was truly terrified.

What surprised you the most?

That your love as a parent continues to grow. You think you’ve reached the max and then it grows again for both your children and your spouse. It’s boundless.

What would be your one piece of advice to a new father?

Patience grasshopper.

Your favorite piece of baby gear?

The baby carrier. We have 4 different styles and they all serve a different purpose depending on the age of the baby or child. Truly the best, invention, EVER!

One piece of baby gear that you feel is completely useless?

A wipe warmer. Seriously people?

Why is Sears one of your favorite shops?

Because they have a great selection of tools.

Besides the tools Raymond!!

Um… they have a cool Baby’s Room that is a definite improvement from the past and you like it for clothes shopping. Their catalog ordering service is the best there is. I love it because everything gets shipped to us, saving me a trip to the store.

“Disclosure: I am part of the Sears The Baby’s Room Ambassador program with Mom Central Canada and I receive special perks as part of my affiliation with this group. The opinions on this blog are my own.”

A mom to two girls and a baby boy, a writer and the publisher of Child Mode. As a lover of style and fashion, Nadia found her ‘niche’ and love of children’s clothing while searching for quality items for her family.
