Stroller Review: Stokke Xplory Blue Melange Limited Edition
After dare I say it – 7 1/2 months of cold snowy weather (yes it snowed in May), I have finally been able to shrug off the heavy coats and replace them with tanks and tees. We’ve also been able to take our new wheels for a few spins. The Stokke Xplory is a luxury stroller that I’ve had a crush on for quite some time now. It’s elegant look has always appealed to me, and although I’ve played with it during tradeshows and events and seen it pushed by countless celebrities, I’ve never had a chance to really test it out myself.
Stokke recently sent us their limited edition blue melange version of the Xplory to test out and I’m in love! Out of the box, I was a little concerned as the seat didn’t seem as though it would suit a toddler and yet it fits him perfectly. He really loves the design of the seat and likes to use it as a chair, climbing in and demanding to be pushed around the house (yes he really does this, just ask my husband).
Installation took about 10 minutes from start to finish. There are 5 pieces that come in the box: sun shade, seat, footrest and the stroller base. We didn’t really need the instructions for installation as each piece essentially clicked into each other. So simple. The guide was very helpful in providing information on how you can use the stroller for various ages. You can essentially use this stroller from the newborn stage straight up to toddlerhood.
This stroller pushes like an absolute dream and requires little to no effort, which makes it a favourite with my girls. They love to push their brother in this stroller! My husband’s favourite feature is the adjustable handle as he can push our son with ease without hunching over. When you are 6 feet tall, you NEED an adjustable handle! This one can be lifted and lowered to suite any height That being said, I wouldn’t recommend it for country backroads or bumpy surfaces as it is more suited for the city, the sidewalk or park. Weighing in at just 26.5 lbs, it isn’t heavy which makes it very easy to travel with. The stroller also folds up beautifully and works well on city streets and sidewalks.
You can use this stroller as a full travel system by picking up the required car seat adapter (avaiable separately). The Stokke Xplory can be built according to your needs, by purchasing various accessories (like the carry cot). The grey melange version runs in at $1,100 through giggle.com.
Watch the video above for a closer look at this stroller and how it works. The Stokke Xplory is a very fashionable option for the style-conscious mom who wants something that will last her from the newborn stage right up to toddlerhood.
Disclosure: We were not paid for this post, however Stokke did send us a stroller for review purposes.
