Children’s Vintage & Retro Swimsuits ~ 5 Girly Picks

I have a thing for retro swimsuits. In fact, I have one that is a true vintage piece designed in the 50’s and another from the 60’s. The low cut leg is highly appealing to me and overall, the look of vintage swimwear offers a class all its own. I don’t know why it never occurred to me that there could be vintage swimwear for kids out there, but turns out there is.

There are a couple of designers who have put together vintage-inspired pieces for kids whether it be with the prints or overall cuts of the suit and several Etsy sellers have taken it upon themselves to design their own. Here are 5 of my favourites that are available right now.

The photo pictured above is a children’s vintage ’60’s ranger navy bathingsuit romper. What I love about this suit is that kids could wear it two-ways as it passes for both a romper and a bathing suit. You can buy it now through aiseirigh on Etsy.

Next up is this light blue one piece suit from RedDolly Girls. It has a gathered center bust and full coverage bottoms. Love the color of this one!

RedDolly Girls specializes in an entire collection of retro-inspired swim pieces for girls. The itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini, is another one of our favourites!

Boyshorts are the way to go if you’re looking for a retro look. This tangerine and ivory swimsuit features the boyshort style with adorable ruffles. You can find it at muddyfeetboutique on Etsy.

I love the classic look of the navy and white Jemima swimsuit! Available for purchase through ElementsofChildhood on Etsy.
