Jamaica’s Beautiful Waterfalls: 4 You Won’t Want To Miss!

Aside from pristine beaches and crystal blue waters, Jamaica can also boast about it’s lush green interior and waterfalls. The most famous, and best known of course, is Dunn’s River Falls. But did you know that Jamaica has at least seven other waterfalls you can visit when on the island? Here are four you won’t want to miss!

Dunn’s River Falls
The most popular of all the waterfalls, Dunn’s River Falls is often quite busy with tourists. Located on the north side of the island in Ocho Rios, it is a day trip from Negril.

YS Falls
Located on the southwest side of Jamaica in St.Elizabeth, YS Falls is impressive with a seven tiered cascading waterfall. Jump off a rope into one of the cool swimming holes or take it all in ziplining high over the canopy. Relax at the end of the day in the spring fed wading pool.

Mayfield Falls

The water flows a little gentler here than at Dunn’s or YS Falls. Less crowded as well, Mayfield Falls is a perfect day trip from Negril.

Reach Falls
Located near Port Antonio, considered to be a destination for foodies, Reach Falls is the perfect place to work off the calories swimming under the falls. For the movie buffs out there, Reach Falls has been used as a backdrop in Cocktail (remember Tom Cruise and Elisabeth Shue under the falls) and Lord of the Flies.
