Hard Rock Hotel Chicago Caters To Breastfeeding Moms With Medela Package

Screen-Shot-2013-05-16-at-11.13.26-AM

We’ve written about traveling while breastfeeding in the past. I find it’s actually easier to nurse while on-the-go than it is to bottle-feed, however last year I found myself in need of a pump and Medela came to the rescue. Their Freestyle Pump was lightweight, easy-to-tote and very travel-friendly.

But wait a second. What if hotels would supply the breast pumps for their guests?

If you are traveling to Chicago you can leave your pump at home, because the Hard Rock Hotel Chicago and Medela are offering a program that is the first of its kind. Nursing Mother’s Amenity Program launched over Mother’s Day weekend and offers nursing mothers a hospital-grade Symphony breast pump and all the required accessories such as Medela’s Micro Steam Bags, Pump and Save bags, disposable bra pads and Quick Clean Wipes, upon check-in.

In-room amenities are also provided and include mini-refrigerators, microwaves, ice packs for transportation and mini cooler bags. If you have any specific requests, the hotel’s concierge is happy to oblige. For example, FedExing expressed milk back home, or if you may need any additional supplies during your stay.

The Nursing Mother’s Amenity Program costs $30 and all proceeds will benefit local families of children in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Anne & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago through The Jackson Chance Foundation.

Brilliant? We certainly think so! Would love to see other hotels jump on this band wagon!
