June 1st Is Worldwide Drawing Day & Michaels Is Giving Kids a Special Something

Did you know that June 1st is Drawing Day? It’s a worldwide event that started off in 2008 as a way to encourage people of all ages to “drop everything and draw”. It is also a great way to show appreciation to artists and illustrators. Michaels is celebrating in their own way this year. On June 1st, the store will give away free sketch books to the first 50 children to participate in Kids Club® classes at each of its 1,100+ stores that Saturday. Their craft specialists will demonstrate various sketching techniques in half-hour sessions that start at 10:00, 10:30 and 11 a.m. Each session is just $2 per child ages three and up.

Michaels Kids Club classes are held every Saturday at all U.S. and Canada stores from 10 to 11:30 a.m., and each week a different craft or skill is highlighted, so it’s a fun class you may want to look into for weekend play!
