The Quantum Class Revealed! Photos & Details On Royal Caribbean’s Newest Ships
Exciting news in the travel world today! Royal Caribbean revealed details and photos for their next generation of cruise ships. Quantum ships will span 18 decks, encompass 167,800 gross registered tons and carry 4,180 guests at double occupancy. This new class of ships will be introducing many ‘firsts’ to the cruising industry such as bumper cars at sea, roller skating and the largest indoor sports and entertainment complex at sea (just to name but a few). These new features will join Royal Caribbean favorites ( rock climbing wall, FlowRider surf simulator, Adventure Ocean children’s program, Royal Babies and Tots Nursery, and the DreamWorks entertainment and events) will all be back on the Quantum Class.
This and many more details were revealed during a media event in New York City, hosted by Kristin Chenoweth – the Godmother of Quantum of the Seas.
Accommodations will be the most spacious offering an average of 9% more space than those on the Oasis class. Interior staterooms will have Virtual Balconies offering real-time views of the ocean and the destinations. Families will love the Family-Connected staterooms as they have taken three different stateroom categories which can connect to form a special layout that provides separate bedrooms and bathrooms for all! Brilliant and a great idea for families and groups of friends who are traveling together.
Categories will include new Studio staterooms (some with balconies), three Junior Suite categories and larger Loft Suites.
What else can you look forward to?
RipCord by iFly, the first skydiving experience at sea allowing everyone from first-time flyers to seasoned skydivers to enjoy skydiving in a controlled, and simulated environment.
The North Star is an incredible new feature that takes guests to the highest heights in a jewel-shaped, glass capsule, carrying them over 300 feet above the ocean and offering 360-degree views. Incredible!
Two70° is a beautiful and open-concept space that will offer 270-degree panoramic sea views through vast, floor-to-ceiling glass walls spanning almost three decks at the stern of the ship. At night Two70° will reveal its evening side with exciting and unexpected entertainment from live performers, including aerialists, as well as breathtaking video and digital scenery.
SeaPlex will be the largest indoor active space at sea, offering everything from a circus school with flying trapeze and basketball to a bumper car and roller skate venue. In the evenings guests can get their groove on with music orchestrated from a floating DJ booth.
The two-storey Music Hall is the place for guests to enjoy intimate and exclusive access to live performances, DJs, theme night parties, billiards and more.
Water lover? The ship will be fitted with an Adults-only Solarium, along with an outdoor pool, a new indoor pool with operable roof and a H2O Zone kids’ aqua park, featured on the top deck.
Quantum class will debut in fall 2014 with Quantum of the Seas, followed by her sister-ship Anthem of the Seas in spring 2015. Quantum of the Seas will sail out of the New York Harbor from her homeport of Cape Liberty on 7- to 12-night itineraries during the winter 2014/15 season. Bookings will open to the general public on June 4.
Stay tuned for more details! We will update as they are unveiled in the coming months.
