Heidi Klum’s Son Johan Turns Designer For Truly Scrumptious
The apple certainly doesn’t fall far from the tree! Heidi Klum’s son is joining his mama in the design process with her company Truly Scrumptious. Babies ‘R’Us unveiled line of t-shirts with art work designed by her six-year-old son Johan. According to WWD, two monster-themed tees are now part of the company’s exclusive Truly Scrumptious by Heidi Klum collection.
“As a mom of four, I’m constantly drawing design inspiration from my kids, whether it’s their unique fashion sense, their latest art project or simply their zest for life. Johan is supercreative, and I knew I wanted to incorporate his whimsical and imaginative designs into my Truly Scrumptious collection in a very special way,” said Klum. “I’m so proud as a mom and a designer to introduce this one-of-a-kind assortment of T-shirts to Babies ‘R’ Us customers in conjunction with my all-new summer apparel collection.”
These two baseball-style t-shirts – one with pink sleeves and one with blue sleeves – feature Johan’s hand-drawn, silly monster creations front and center and are being implemented to help raise awareness for Save the Children. The tees are now available online and will roll into Babies”R”Us stores nationwide next week for $4.99.
Babies ‘R’ Us is launching the Project Doodle Contest to celebrate the launch of this limited edition tee line. Kids ages 8 and under can visit babiesrus.com/heidiklum or facebook.com/babiesrus to create and share their designs using Doodle.ly, a digital sketch pad. Klum will lead a panel in choosing 10 finalists from April 23 through May 6. Voting will take place from May 8 though May 13 and fans of the company’s official Facebook page can vote in both boy and girl categories and help select two grand prize winners who will be rewarded with the entire Truly Scrumptious fall line.
