KidZania Singapore: Details On This New Kid-Sized City

Singapore has a really interesting family attraction that will be opening soon, one that is unlike anything I’ve heard of thus far. KidZania is an indoor family ‘edutainment centre’ that was originally founded in Mexico City by Xavier López Ancona, a young entrepreneur, who dreamed of creating a unique entertainment experience for kids that could promote change, inspire global citizenship and build strong community awareness through an experience that is hands-on, engaging, educational, and most importantly, fun. The first park opened in Mexico 13 years ago and now there are over 11 locations in 8 different countries on 4 continents. Kids visiting KidZania get immersed in a city experience where they are in charge of choosing from over 90 role-playing activities from over 70 establishments. The building will offer over 80,000 square feet and will be just apart of the brand new Family Entertainment Centre development at Palawan Beach, Sentosa Island.

More than just a kid’s theme park, KidZania is a true kid-sized city where children ages 4-14 can pick from a large number of role-playing activities, earn money (kidZos, the official currency of KidZania), pay for goods and services and manage an ATM card – all the things they see adults do in real life. KidZania creates a kid-centric city
experience targeted at kids aged 4 to 14 years where they are empowered to take charge and make their own decisions.

KidZania Singapore is set to open in 2015.
