She launched sunglasses in 2003, which proved to be successful (tripling in that category alone over the last two years) and now Stella McCartney is taking it one step further with the launch of her new optical line.
The collection will launch in February and has been done through a license with Luxottica, the same company who has handled the McCartney sunglasses collection. The optical line will consist of five styles, all of which are made from 54 percent natural materials including cellulose and natural plasticizers. The frames will be available in burgundy, taupe, black, teal and tortoise and are expected to retail from $230 to $245.
As a mom who wears glasses on a regular basis, this is welcome news. I love to add a little fashion flair with my frames and wouldn’t mind adding a little McCartney to my Michael Kors and Versace frames!
