Jamaica Resort For Families ~ Why Beaches Negril Is So Perfect For Kids Of All Ages

Year after year, Beaches Resorts has won travel awards recognizing them as a top rated family destination. In fact, this year, they hold the top two spots for Negril and Turks and Caicos with Travel & Leisure magazine, not to mention a multitude of other awards . Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting their Beaches Negril Resort. After spending some time there it’s not hard to understand why they’re winning accolades all over the place.

Beaches Negril is located along a pristine piece of beach on Jamaica’s south side. Negril Beach ranks among the world’s best beaches and is absolutely perfect for families!

Beaches has programming and fun ideal for kids of all ages. This means parents can kick back and enjoy leisure time on the beach, fine dining or a little spaaah time at Red Lane Spa. The best part? No mommy guilt!  Why? Because your kids will be having the time of their life.

Beaches has partnered with Sesame Street to bring quality entertainment and education to younger kids while vacationing. Although the activities are for children, most parents love it too, as I know many of us grew up with Big Bird and crew!

Beaches and Sesame Street have the entire day filled with fun with lots of one-on-one time with your favourite characters (including breakfasts that involve a dance party), baking cookies with Cookie Monster, nightly parades or the infamous character tuck-in.

Even the tiniest of visitors have their own special place at Beaches Negril, with trained professionals there to take care of your little sweeties, so you can relax.

Kids of all ages can escape the heat to the XBox 360 Game Garage for a little interactive fun. All the latest and greatest ends up at Beaches first. Kids eight and older can learn how to be a DJ at Scratch DJ Academy. Tweens and teens have a space of their own called Trench Town to hang out in and play games. At night, Club Liquid is parent free for teens from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. (the parents take over the dance floor after 11 ;-)).

What is one of the main highlights at Beaches Negril? The water park of course! Pirates Island Waterpark has two slides over 200 feet in length, a lazy river, a splash pad, a pool, and an ice cream bar. But that’s not the only place to get wet. Snorkelling, banana boats, waterboards, kayaking, and sailing are just a few of the other water activities offered.

And if you have a little fish in the family (like I do), your child can learn to dive with the resort’s diving lessons which are provided for children ages 8 and up.

As you can see from the activity board above, there is no time to get bored at Beaches Negril… Unless of course, you want to. Chillin’ is highly encouraged!

The great thing about Beaches Resorts is that not only do they provide an all-inclusive vacation, their offerings and activities can be customized and geared to each family member’s individual tastes. There are so many reasons families keep coming back to this resort, but one of the most important reasons being – everyone leaves happy.

Escape the cold this winter and find out for yourself why Beaches Negril is the ultimate family destination. In the meantime, watch this video below. Bet you didn’t know Bert and Ernie had moves quite like this!

I like the diving. My kids would be all over that.
