Little Marc Jacobs 2012: Fall/Winter Visuals & Inspiration For Kids
Little Marc Jacobs wins this season with their latest Fall/Winter collection for 2012. Comprised of three original themes, the line is fun and offers plenty of mix-and-match styles.
‘Like a Bird’
Cable and neoprene mix knits reign in this theme and are worn over piece-dyed slim-cut
trousers. A checked wool coat with quilted lining is accentuated with bows and contrasts with ultra-graphic or delicately rhinestoned tops. The “faux fur” duffele coat is as cozy as it is fun.
Little Marc Jacobs pairs embroidered tulle petticoat with a sweatshirt in mottled cotton fleece. The emblematic polka dots spring up all over the theme – on navy blue satin dresses and blouses, and even cross over to the boys’ line, in a micro-version on preppy shirts. An authentic Marc Jacobs color palette of ‘Marc’ blue, navy, mocked grey, bubble and tomato are perfect for the season.
Witty with a touch of glamor is how you would explain this fun and light-hearted collection. You’ll notice plenty of gold finishes throughout the entire collection. Speaking of gold, the gilt leather dress inspired by Marc Jacobs Collection is an absolute must-have.
Tops and dresses are warmed up by multi-coloured stripes, and a faux camouflage print enlivens dresses in fluid crêpe. Jungle animals make key appearances here on sweaters and a bold knit dress.
This collection takes inspiration from the fifties and promises chic, relaxed styles. Petticoats and carrot trousers in cotton flannel are paired with fifties-style silkscreened tops and bow-collared t-shirts. A burst of purple hearts livens up satin dresses, knit cardigans and a chic parka.
Details such as dots and delicate bows are surprising details, lurex crocheted bows on modal jersey blouses and silver lurex touches complete this holiday line.
What about the boys?
The emphasis this year is on contrasting materials and colours. Chambray-lined blazer, trousers in double-face fabric and down jackets in a mix of nylon and wool. Arty silkscreens make clever reference to the Marc by Marc Jacobs line, with the “Don’t mess with Marc Jacobs” fist on mottled t-shirts.
Toned down shades of blue and black are accented by ruby red and gold are on trend colour wise.
