Last Saturday (September 8), celebrity families flocked to the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills to attend the 2nd Annual Red CARpet Event, a family-friendly fun day designed to help spread the word about the critical importance of child passenger safety and raise the public’s knowledge of an unseen and widespread epidemic.
Every year, thousands of children are tragically injured or killed in motor vehicle traffic crashes. In fact, motor vehicle crashes in the U.S. are the leading cause of death for children age 3 and older. Installing car seats correctly and securing children properly is the most effective combination of steps to protecting them in the event of a crash. Roughly 3 out of 4 child safety seats are not used correctly.
This special day was arranged at a great time considering that National Child Passenger Safety Week is coming up from September 17th-22nd! During the event, a team of certified technicians installed more than 30 Britax car and booster seats in vehicles for VIPs and celebrities.
Safe Kids Worldwide joined sponsor Britax and host Ali Landry for this important public awareness event which currently benefits Safe Kids, a non-profit whose mission is to prevent unintentional childhood injury.
Just some of the attendees included host Ali Landry, Tiffani Thiessen, Alison Sweeney, Leonor Varela, Constance Zimmer, Marla Sokoloff, Briana Culberson & Vicki Gunvalson, Jennifer Aspen, Eric Ladin, Lindsay Sloane, Sarah Lancaster, Marisol Nichols, Archie Kao, Mark Deklin, Christie Lynn Smith, Catherine McCord, Dave Kushner, Ian Ziering, Anya Sarre, Talon Smith, and baby expert Dr. Harvey Karp.
Activities for the event included a giant trampoline, face painting, a Nestle Reading Nook, Lakeshore Learning activity table, and bean bag toss.
