10-month-old Miami girl, Valentina Guerrero is front and center of an entire new campaign from the Spanish swimwear designer Dolores Cortés. This beautiful little girl is making major history in the kids fashion sector. Adweek is reporting that Valentina is the first person with Down syndrome in history to be the main model of a campaign from a prestigious fashion designer.
PEOPLE just ran an exclusive with this adorable baby girl and says:
Though Valentina isn’t the first child with Down syndrome to model — others have been in ads for Target, Nordstrom and Toys”R”Us — with her new campaign, she’s one of the most high-profile.
Not only does Valentina grace the cover of the new Dolores Cortés USA catalog, but she is also the face of the brand’s 2013 DC Kids ads. She made her runway debut July 20 at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim 2013 in Miami and was greeted to an incredibly enthusiastic crowd.
Delores Cortés said:
“People with Down syndrome are just as beautiful and deserve the same opportunities. I’m thrilled to have Valentina modeling for us.”
We agree wholeheartedly! I can’t even begin to tell you how much we adore this campaign.
Dolores Cortés Kids USA will be donating 10 percent of the profits of this collection to the Down Syndrome Association of Miami.
