Food Friday Featuring: Crispy Pitas (Our New Alternative To Potato Chips)

So here’s the thing. Ozery’s Pita Break sent me an entire box of their new Crispy Pita snacks and I had all kinds of plans to show you the chips in photo form. I even took pictures of the bags as you can see in the photo above. But somehow they disappeared. I’m blaming my kids…

These are seriously the most delicious snack – ever. The chips come in four flavors: Cranberry Pumpkin Seed, Rosemary Garlic, Organic Spelt and Organic Wheat and are made in northern Toronto, although the snacks are available throughout Canada and the United States. Health conscious parents will appreciate that the chips are all natural, made with no preservatives or artificial ingredients using non-GMO sunflower oil and are also dairy-free, vegan and kosher. There is 50% less fat in these chips compared to the leading regular potato chips AND they are actually healthy for you, are trans fat free, have an abundance of whole grains and are a great source of fibre (6g of protein per serving).

The Cranberry Pumpkin Seed and Rosemary Garlic were my favorite for just snacking. The kids really enjoyed the Organic Spelt with Flax and Organic Wheat varieties with Guacamole and Hummus.

If you are looking for a healthy snack alternative to potato chips, these are fabulous, delicious and oh so good for you. I would however keep them under lock and key, because all four bags were gone in 24 hours.
