Babies Need Basics ~ Tips On Building Your Infant’s Wardrobe

Shopping for a baby’s wardrobe can be overwhelming sometimes,  due to the sheer amount of options available. Visit any clothing store and the choices are virtually endless!

When shopping for my first daughter, I went crazy with the pink and purple outfits, frilly dresses and cute little jumpers! Surprisingly in the end, I stuck to the basics and most of her itty bitty 0-3 month sized outfits went unworn. It’s fun to dress up newborns, but the fact of the matter is, wardrobe staples or a proper baby layette will give you the most bang for your buck.

A basic layette includes a few sleepers, pants, tops, one piece body suits (short/long sleeve), booties, mitts and a hat. During the first couple of months, this collection of items is essential. Babies grow so incredibly fast and can usually go through two sizes in 2-3 months. After three kids, it still never ceases to amaze me!
